The 3DS Circle Pad Pro came with/or around the release of Resident Evil: Revalations, making it the first Nintendo-Made 3DS extension. It is 25 bucks. The contents of the box are:
Circle Pad Pro (In Black Only)
Operations Manual
AAA (Triple A) Battery
Wriststrap (No Joke)
When You open the box you find a pretty bulky looking extension. You then find a battery. To open the battery slot you can use a coin or a flathead screwdriver. When you first use it it may feel uncomfortable at first but you get used to it after using it many times. It adds the buttons ZL, ZR, another R button (Because of the extension making it hard to use the regular one), and of course the additional circle pad. It is extremely simple to take off and put on. Sadly it does not offer usability on the menu or any other things and only works with games with support it. It also uses infrared connection to work and blocks the pen slot and the game slot, Although it may seem trouble doing it you get used to it. It is also hard to put a 3DS in a pocket with the extension on.I also found the after a while of using the extension I took it off and found the 3DS to feel quite small.
The games I currently know support the Circle Pad are:
Kid Icarus: Uprising (Amazing Game)
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Resident Evil: Revalations
Aside from the small flaws I rate the Circle Pad Pro:
★★★★☆
May I put this review on the list? It will be put under the accessory category. Thanks. For confirming your permmission please leave a message on my wall or the review list itself (in this link)], thanks.
This add-on isn't very well supported, only a handful of games utilize it. But yeah, it'll be a necessity when/if the 3DS starts getting some First Person Shooters.
