As you may have heard, Disney recently acquired the Star Wars franchise and is currently working on a continuation to the series. I've managed to get some more info on the upcoming movies, including cast, titles, basic plot, and expected release dates.

It should be noted that the new directors of the films felt they could attract old fans by keeping much of the original cast, and in doing so several minor edits to the script have been made. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the movies' plot or appeal. Here's a short description of the first three movies.

Episode X: A Newer Hope
Expected release date: 2015

This movie takes place several years after episode VI. Luke Skywalker, still played by Mark Hamill, has grown very old. So old that he's gone senile and now thinks he's back on his home planet before he became a jedi and took down the empire. The basic plot is Luke imagining and reenacting the events that took place in episode IV. The point of view switches between Luke and his worried family and friends.

Episode XI: The Empire Strikes Back Again
Release date: 2017

In this movie the old empire taken down in episode VI makes a return after decades of silent preparation. Many remaining members of the old empire have, like Luke, gone senile. Their leader is the pile of ashes which used to be Darth Sidious, who in their imaginary pov will be played by pope Benedict XVI who bares shocking resemblence to the character. While the rest fight the empire's return, Luke thinks he's also fighting by attacking a duffle bag which he imagines to be the enemy.

Episode XII: The Jedi are Back for More
Release date: 2019

The third movie ends with Luke being captured and brought to the empire's headquarters where he though all but insane is still a master jedi and manages to get a lightsaber in his hands which he uses to slaughter all the enemy leaders thereby taking down the empire.

The movies are then expected to take another 16 year hiatus. Thanks for reading.
