It has been a while, so I thought I'd give an update on progress for The Mystical Journey.
Village Demo This is in the very early stages. I will be focusing on developing the engine, using the Olmar Farm teaser as the basis. I will probably use the farm as the test for the engine, but the goal is to have the entire village of Bryn playable for the demo by the end of the year. That includes NPC interaction, a stats menu, and entering buildings. If I can get it working on the DSi and the Wii, I will. The target platform is the 3DS, but the Wii U will get it on the upcoming GamePadPaint.com, too. If anyone would like to volunteer to make tilemaps/levels, please let me know, as this would greatly accelerate development.
Sprite Conversions Now that several of the final sprites are ready (or at least first drafts), the Mt. Hildar demo has been updated to use them, instead of the old sprites. Other demos and teasers will get the new sprites over time, as well.
Demo 7 - 1P Battles I've been working on porting this to the DSi. It should be ready this weekend. The main problem I have is getting the menus shrunk to the smaller screen without the text overflowing. The Nintendo DSi browser has a minimum font size of about 6px, so just reducing the font size alone won't take care of it.
Speaking of the 1P battles and porting them to DSi, do you know how much DSiPaint is trafficked relative to 3DSPaint? I've been thinking about that a lot lately.
It has about 4x the traffic, but the ratio is quickly closing, as more people get the 3DS.
