Certain maple syrup smelling royalty in these parts may be playing the Wii U tomorrow, but I will be hard at work on the newest feature for all 3 paint apps (at least until my Wii U comes in the mail on Monday). Enter the slideshow!

A beta version of the slideshow is available on the 3DSPaint app menu as a text link tonight. It's a very rough app that works but is not all pretty yet. Here's the basic premise:

* A list of 100 random paintings (PNG version) load. These paintings must not be deleted and be from active members.
* The paintings display in a slideshow with random effects, which (so far) include zoom in, zoom out, slide right, and slide left. The new image fades into view for the first 1/4 of the slide from transparent to opaque.
* As images appear, the author's name displays on the screen.
* To exit, click the button appropriately named "Exit".

That's all there is to it right now. It's a simple concept that really should have been implemented eons ago, but since these websites have no existed for eons, I'll use that as my excuse.

Due to the slow speed of the Nintendo DSi browser, don't expect the fades on that version, but I will try to work in the zooming. The Wii one will be similar to the Nintendo 3DS one. When GamePadPaint comes along, the slideshow for it will be much more extravagant, with 3D effects and music. Yay!
