There has been a lack of Nintendo News going around recently, as Nintendo has reached the hiatus that usually occurs between the fall and the spring. Unfortunately, there is no groundbreaking Nintendo news today, so I decided to address something that has been bothering me.
You see, I have been hearing repeatedly that there is a lack of quality games on the Nintendo 3DS system. Ha! I pity the fools who miss out on great 3DS exclusives! It is unacceptable that so many people are unaware of what brilliant titles have crossed the 3DS, even in its relatively short life. In order to remedy this issue, I have provided a list of three great, third party games which need to be in any 3DS owner's library. Check it out!
3. METAL GEAR SOLID SNAKE EATER 3D
For those unfamilliar with the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater (or MGS3 for those lazy readers) is a stealth based action game that originally debuted on Playstation 2 in 2004. The game has recieved numerous awards, and is praised for its deep storyline and intense gameplay. The 3DS port adds new features to an already brilliant game. The jungle (and the character models, ahem,) look excellent in stereoscopic 3D, and the touch screen makes equipping gear and checking the map a breeze. Don't miss this gem!
2. DEAD OR ALIVE DIMENSIONS
The Nintendo 3DS has becom a haven for fighting games, with both Street Fighter and Tekken gracing the system since its launch. But the best fighting game for the 3DS is by far Dead Or Alive Dimensions. Now, there is a plot involved, but it doesn't really matter all that much. What matters is the fact that you get to travel across a variety of beautiful locales, kicking some ninja butt while playing as a gorgeously rendered character. As a matter of fact, there is an incredibly varied roster to choose from, and by the time you have unlocked the full roster, you can play as anyone from the famous Ryu Hayabusa to a demon posessed murderer. Each character has a unique variety of moves, which look very smooth and well executed on the 3DS screen. And with online and local multiplayer, varios challenge modes, and an interactive character gallery, Dead or Alive Dimensions is a must have 3DS title.
1. PROFESSOR LAYTON AND THE MIRACLE MASK
If for some reason you live in a totalitarian society where the law allows you only one third-party 3DS title, then you better be picking up this one. This is, personally, one of my all time favorite games. Beautifully animated cut scenes. An intriguing mystery story. Hundreds of challenging puzzles, most of which utilize a key 3DS feature. Oh, and a new downloadble puzzle, free, every day for an entire year. I don't think I can even explain how awesome this title is. Just buy it.
Well, there you have it; my top three 3rd Party 3DS titles so far. Which three games would make your top 3 list? Comment below! Thanks SDK, and remember, keep on gaming!
They just launched a new console in North America less than two weeks ago. It sold out of its entire 400,000 shipment. The Wii is still selling like crazy, thanks to its dirt-cheap price. The 3DS and DS (in various flavors) are flying off the shelves, too.
Several first-party games have come to store shelves in the past few weeks, and more will be coming in a month.
Animal Crossing for the 3DS is out in Japan and is breaking all kinds of records. The addiction will be infecting the rest of the world the beginning of next year.
