If you're looking for an intelligent, loving kind of dog, you can't go wrong with the French Bulldog. Even though this breed may have the worst snoring ever, it makes up for it with its abundance of affection. It doesn't like to be alone for too long, so this isn't the best breed for people that are always away. Despite its bulky, ready-to-rumble appearance, it is an all around gentle breed. Sometimes it wants to simply roll around on the ground. The French Bulldog can make a wonderful pet, but like all dogs, it is important it gets trained at an early age.
The Appenzell Mountain Dog is one of the weirdest breeds, and it gets even stranger because it's rated as one of the most silliest breeds. This crazy dog prefers the outdoors and it gets along great with other dogs. It is rather short-haired, so grooming isn't really necessary, it does love to be brushed however. This breed will be most happy in the wide open space where it can run around. It has even been known to get itself stuck in trees after chasing squirrels. This is just one of the many reasons the Appenzell Mountain Dog is highly regarded.
If calm dogs are your thing, the Bouvier des Flandres is probably the most calm, plus more. It is a thick-coated breed, so daily grooming is a must. As you can probably tell from its name, it is originally from France. This is mainly a very mellow and obedient dog. These are good qualities, and its gentle personality with children make it even more favorable. Unlike the Boston Terrier, Bouvier des Flandres are rather large, so small living space is not the best, despite its calm nature.
The English Bulldog is very different from the French Bulldog, a close relative. It is better known to be loner. Despite this, occasionally the English Bulldog is sweet and eager to please. This dog may have an odd health problem, if it continually eats throughout the day, it might begin to bloat. And this can lead to numerous issues. So always monitor its eating. This breed is impressive in strength and stamina, it can be tough if it needs to be. Although, it often keeps to itself, English Bulldogs can prove to be valuable companions to children, or any family.
Some dogs don't like to play. Some just want to feel like they are in control. One of these dogs is the Chow Chow. You might think that the nice, cute name means this breed is loving and adorable, but you could not possibly be more wrong. The Chow Chow is not exactly mean, but really does not like strangers. To go along with this, it is not very active, it is more of a couch potato. It is recommended that only single owners buy this dog. Sometimes, owners claim they feel like their friendship is more of a marriage. Due to its long hair, you must brush it. Also, it is not good with children.
The Great Pyrenees is one of the sleepiest dogs ever. This breed is sensitive, and is happiest with a loving family as long as it gets attention. If it gets treated badly, it has been known to run away for the one purpose of finding someone who will treat it with kindness. The Great Pyrenees has long hair, in fact, the actual breed is meant for cold climates. Because of its long hair, constant grooming is required to keep its hair from matting up. Although it has a different personality, treat it nicely and it will love you to the end.
u didn't mention that chow chows owned by a family, tend to gravitate & become attached to 1 person, but are known to have seperation anxiety. ( we were told about te seperation anxiety by a vet about our old dog)
I simply could not include that dog because it was not in the highest rated for valuable traits. You might own one that is different from what I just wrote, but my information is from many different individuals.
Simple, it is not one of the highest rated dogs for those traits. Where as it is very popular, it is not the most popular breed, plus other kinds of dog have better qualities. The Golden Retriever is NOT gentle, it is energetic, but it also one of the stupidiest breeds, meaning it can learn, but it is NOT very smart at all. In fact, the Boston Terrier is 3 times smaller but is far more intelligent. Same with the French Bulldog.
