After my 2-week hiatus of updates to the community, I've come back in full swing with several updates to GamePadPaint.com, the newest sister site.

Website Layouts
As I'm sure many have been aware for a while, most of the shared aspects of DSiPaint.com, 3DSPaint.com, and WiiOperaSDK.com, are the same layouts with different styling for the applicable screen widths. This has worked well for the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo 3DS (and even the few who have been using the Nintendo DS browser card), but some pages didn't look the prettiest on the 800px virtual width Wii screen. Since the Wii U has a 980px wide virtual screen, so this would just add to the appearance issues.

Instead of sharing the same HTML/PHP files with GPP, I am completely redesigning their layouts to fit the wide screen layout better. In my previous blog on the topic, I brought up the pseudo-frames solution. This has been working fairly well, but I would like some feedback from anyone who tries out the website. You don't need a Wii U for most of the features, but it is a plus for some of the style nuances and the extra little bonuses tossed into the interface.

In my previous blog, I mentioned that the homepage had been set up for the new layout, but not much had been completed beyond that.

Now, the entire Groups section has been updated. I've caught and fixed a few bugs in the search functionality, too (which will be ported to the other websites). Blog and Profile viewing is ready, as well.

Since each page needs to be restructured, it will probably be a week before everything is done, then I can move to the new features.

The Mystical Journey
Do to my 2 week break, I have not worked at all on TMJ, so the next demo will not be ready by the end of the year. I still plan on having it ready in January, and this demo - along with some of the others - will come to GPP.

I'm thinking that instead of initially releasing the demo with the village of Bryn, I will redesign Mt. Hildar to be a 1P lobby to the battle demo. This redesign will have fully-scrolling tiles. Bryn will be the next iteration of the demo.

Arch_Enemy has completed some more enemy sprites that I need to integrate into the 1P Battles demo, as well. If you are not aware, he has contributed a great deal to the project, creating all the enemy sprites in TMJ Tiler, directly from his Nintendo 3DS!

Other Updates
As I've paid my visits over the past couple weeks, I've browsed the Help Desk and see many good ideas. I plan on implementing several before the end of the year.

Skunkman and one of his co-workers are polishing up a few new games. One of them will come to all the websites. The other will probably be for 3DSPaint.com and GamePadPaint.com.
