Ok, to the topic now!

I recently came up with an idea regarding community blogging. I am naming it that because this idea aims to get members together to work on the same blog, yes! And I'm here today to publicly detail this concept and explain how it would work, if implemented. Note that this is a mere suggestion, and I haven't disclosed this idea to anyone yet, including Hull.

I know well that an huge blog takes long hours of work and demands high attention to detail, even more when you try to format images and implement them to the work. The coding gets big, and not everyone is a software savvy, including myself, I get lost between the tags easily, and big part of the work time is only for sorting things out, not actually writing!

My suggestion relies on letting members have personal "editors", giving them limited access to specific blogs BEFORE submitting them to the public

This would, in theory, increase the quality of blogs by splitting the workload and joining members with different abilities to make up for each other's weaknesses. It would also promote team work and cooperation.

I have not stipulated an exact number, but I guess limiting 3 or 4 editors per member would be more than enough. Only 1 editor would have access to the author's blog on a chosen blog.

For example:

I have 3 editors; Waffle King, MysticalZoey and OverlordVG.

My blog is talking about how to take care of pets. I, obviously, don't want Waffle King to be my editor, or my readers would be arrested for animal abuse.

I'd take MysticalZoey instead, she is a serious person, plus she loves Llamas.

Then lets pick MystycalZoey:

The editor will be able to edit the blog as long as it is in DRAFT mode, and the editor CAN NOT publish or unpublish the blog, nor edit it after it is published.

The idea for editors is for them to fix your grammatical or coding errors, but this is free for each member to decide.

Since editors will have editing access to the blogs, they can write anything from scratch, do background coding, or whatever the Author discusses with him/her.

This can also work as mutual cooperation. I can be someone's Editor, and that person can be my editor too.

When requested, Editors would receive an instant alert (chatroom too, maybe?) linking to the blog. Of course, message your editor telling what you need, or have that pre-discussed. Once the editor finishes, he "submits" the blog (king of a "Done" button") and that sends an alert to the Author, telling he finished. Note, I mean "submits" as in different than "saving", or the Author will be flooded with alerts if the Editor takes a break and saves the blog between these breaks..


In the end, both the Editor's name and Author's would appear in the blog, crediting the work properly.

I don't see any dangers with this system, besides Llamas.

Whoever, needless to say there is no point in making something almost nobody will use.
