Story:
The plot in Earthbound is very in-depth and long compared to other RPGs. It starts with the alien "buzz buzz" come from a metorite and tells Ness to record the 8 your sanctuary melondies to defeat Giygas.
As you progress into the game, you meet many comrades and foes along the way. The main characters have a very unique effect in the story, Many times in the game events will make the story even deeper, such as Paula's kidnapping and the fight with the Kracken. There are tons different areas one can explore, (The town names make a pun on numbers, Onett, Twoson, Threed and Fourside) with many unique plots in each place. The story will go from Ness's mind to the Cave of the past. This is one of the most unique RPG storylines I've seen.
Music
The music in a game always sets the mood. EarthBound made sure that the music could change the mood on the spot, shown in the music for the final fight(Look it up, its epic). The music is also wonderfully conducted for every track, like Winter's and Onett's overworld music are very remarkable music for this game.
Graphics
Earthbound's graphics are actually very good for the SNES, particualy when using PSI during battle. PSI Starstorm and PSI Rockin (Omega version) both have a lightshow of effects when used. Out of battle, though the graphics and background are somewhat less than great. The only bad parts are the lack of spirtes used for standing, as you are forced to forever walk in place. The the designs for the background in battle are lacking nothing, because there is no background except for the array of colors moving across the screen.
Gameplay
The gameplay in EarthBound superb, with giant areas to explore, many enimies to fight, epic boss battles and items to use, these traits kept me hooked for hours, giving this a 10/10
