Oh my God, OH MY GOD, sexy gadgets everywhere, EVERYWHERE! Its the Consumer Electronics Show!
This year's CES has revealed some nice gaming candies ! And I will be detailing them right here, right now :3
Microsoft illumiroom
Right now, this is purely a concept (not even a prototype). Aimed at gaming, illumiroom consists in extending the gaming screen by projecting the virtual environment directly in the wall, or objects, around your TV screen.
It is not limited to expanding the screen itself, from the concept video you can see there is a wide range of effects that virtually interact with the objects in the room.
Will this be available in the next generation xbox 720? I'm up to some speculation!

Nvidia Project Shield
Perhaps the most promising new gaming handheld revealed in a while. Nvidia revealed what is to be the first Tegra 4 powered device in the market, set to launch in Q2 2013.
"Shield" is an android device focused in gaming but also equipped with all the perks on an android device. Web browser, apps, social networks and whatever android devices are used to do.
Not much from the specs are known besides some basic hardware information. Shield has a 5 inch 1280x720 multitouch display, built-in speakers and is loaded with the power of Tegra 4 GPU which is said to be able to play 4K videos very smoothly (ultra HD).
One of the most interesting features of the Shield for PC gamers, is its ability to stream Steam games from computers powered with any of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX GPUs
Final pricing will most likely depend on the device's processing, memory and storage specs. Launch is set to Q2 2013.
Razer Edge
From the looks an specs, this tablet puts Android and Apple ones to pure shame.
The Razer Egde is a Windows 8 gaming tablet packed with power and accessories that make it stand out as a gaming hybrid, as powerful as many ultrabooks out there.
Razer Edge will come in 2 flavors the Pro (Starting US$1,299.99), and the basic (US$999).
The Pro pack will be equipped with an Intel core i7 (turbo 3.0ghz), 8GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GT 640M LE (2gb DDR3), 10.1 inches 1366x768 capacitive touchscreen and storage up to 128Gb or 256gb SSD SATA III.
Yes my nose is bleeding.
The specs are not the only thing special about the Egde, its wide range of accessories give consumers many options to enjoy the power, from handheld device to home console mode, with the option to stream the game to an HD TV.
The gaming attachment and the key-lit Keyboard dock both have support for an external battery (which goes on the back of the attachment), doubling Razer's very short usage time from 1 hour gaming time or 2 hours of general use, to 2-4 hours of gaming or 8 hours of general use.
The accessories and external battery will be sold separately, if you want the Razer Edge Pro + external battery and keyboard dock you'll end up shoving US$ 1500 in total, OUCH!
We learned a lesson today, power comes at a very salty price : (
Not impressed. An over-glorified projector, Angry Birds with a controller attached, and an overpriced tablet. 2/10, would not bang.
I'm waiting for E3.
I agree. None of these things are really creative. They are just like "let's combine some things people like, make it look shiny, and we will just take in all the profit. I bet no one ever did that before."
