Fire Emblem Awakening News summary !

Hello fellow readers!

I'm here today to cover up some news that may have slipped your gamer eyes this month, everything regarding Nintendo's addictive strategy game franchise, Fire Emblem, and the new installment for the 3DS, Awakening

Fire Emblem Awakening will be available both digitally and at retail February 4. A demo version has come out yesterday and gives us a short preview on the gameplay and plot, it takes roughly 1800 blocks but its worth it!

The digital version was reported to take around 1.3 Gb (8,600 blocks) of space, make sure you have enough before purchasing!

There will also be an exclusive 3DS design which will come bundled with Fire Emblem, coming February 15. The game will come pre-installed and the unit comes with an 4gb SDHC card.

The game has received an huge visual revamp, but the gameplay feeling is still the same. Now players have the option to disable permanent character deaths, and will be able to customize the Hero's appearance and gender. From the demo, it seems special weapons (ex: falchion) don't have an usage limit anymore.

Wireless play is local co-op, and extra DLC, maps/chapters, will be available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop. The game also has some streetpass functionality.

From the experience I had with Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, also on my 3DS but as virtual console GBA (no 3D effects), I can tell the 3D gives a nice visual effect on the strategy table, its like the buildings and fire smoke pops up! And the amazing 3D battle scenes must be enjoyed with stereo 3D, this is surely one game to enjoy with some added depth and volume!

I found that you either hated the demo and wanted to burn the game before it's release, or you loved it. I obviously loved it because well, you know, dem pixls.

I don't usually like strategy games, but this one is strangely attractive. I got the demo, and I was pretty impressed. This game is definitely going on my list.

Get and play the demo, you can always delete it.

Me too. Fire Emblem is basically the only purely round-based strategy game I play. I played a little bit of Final Fantasy tactics but it is not nearly as fun as this.

Children of Mana got annoying at some point, and Advance Wars was purely annoying! haha
