Since there has been a media blackout until recently on this story, I thought I would write a blog to inform readers of this on-going capital murder trial of a the Philadelphia abortion provider, who is accused of multiple counts of murder, among numerous other crimes. It is my belief that this case has been ignored by the media, due to its relation to abortion. Yet, the issue at the core is not abortion itself, since he is not on trial for that.

If the accusations are true, this man is a monster. I very rarely attribute evil to an individual, but he fits the bill. Before you comment on this blog, please read why this trial is of great importance, but I must warn you of the graphic details I am providing. I prefer to not have knee jerk reactions in the comments from those who are not familiar with the details.

Criminal Accusations
The primary crimes, which elevated this trial to capital status (meaning potential Death Penalty) come from reports by former employees who made plea deals for lesser sentences as accessories to murder. Gosnell employed several nurses who were unlicensed and as young as 15 and paid them under-the-table to avoid licensing fees and taxes. He permitted them to administer anesthetics, resulting in the overdose death of a 41 year-old Bhutanese woman (third-degree murder charge). Additionally, he is charged with 7 deaths (first-degree murder) of born-alive babies, who were reported to have been screaming in pain on tables. He proceeded to decapitate them with scissors, slit their throats, or jam instruments into their spines and leave them to die.

He is also accused of selling prescription painkillers, like OxyContin, for cash, to those who weren't patients. Such drugs have high street value for recreational drug trade, due to their highs.

There are also charges of corruption and conspiracy, among others.

Additional Testimonies
Former nurses have reported that he murdered 100s of born-alive infants during the past 20 years, meaning the 7 known cases were just the surface. He frequently performed late-term and full-term abortions, which are banned (past the 24 week limit). He would instruct nurses to enter "24.5 weeks" onto the paperwork to account for a faux margin-of-error of ultrasound measurements.

He would frequently allow the unlicensed nurses to induce labor in patients in his absence. When they would deliver fetuses or live full-term babies, he would arrive and murder the infants. Evidence of the procedures would then be destroyed to avoid legal trouble.

Many patients returned to the clinic, days after abortions, with reports of abdominal pain. Nurses found several limbs of infants still inside them. He would proceed to vacuum out the limbs with anesthetic, causing the women to scream in intense pain.

One nurse reported that he forcefully conducted a late-term abortion on a woman who changed her mind on the procedure. He forced her onto the operating table, strapped her to it, and started the procedure. She passed out and woke up 12 hours later at home.

A 15 year old girl showed up to a local emergency room, after Gosnell botched an abortion. The doctor seeing her had to stop profuse bleeding and remove the dead fetus. He determined that the fetus was full-term (I.e. newborn age).

Grand jury testimony cities numerous cases of punctured organs in patients and at least two cases of women eventually dying from botched procedures. In many cases, women would be injured, suffering convulsions, bleeding, and severe wounds, and Gosnell would refuse to take them to an emergency room.

Operating Room Conditions
His practice was filthy, consisting of unsterilized equipment that was splattered with blood and limbs of aborted fetuses and born-alive babies. Numerous complaints went uninvestigated for 2 decades, for political reasons. The Grand Jury report cited tests that founds STDs, animal feces, bodily fluids, and noxious waste, as well.

The room was filled with jars of severed feet, disposable equipment that has been used numerous times, and waste material strewn about.

Lobby Conditions
He had two lobbies: One for Whites that was kept clean, and one for Blacks (which he and most employees are) that was blood-splattered and filthy. There are reports of patients looking near-death, left in the lobby, rather than being taken to local hospital emergency rooms.

Gosnell's Response
He claims innocence and believes it will be entertaining to read all the accusations, after his vindication. He says that prosecutors and accusers are racist and would not bring similar changes against a White man. When the accusations of mutilated born-alive infants were read in court, he started laughing.
