Lately, a lot of viruses have been popping up everywhere. Not just the old "I'm going to make a PC-breaking virus to show off my skills" virus, but now its more like the "I'm going to break your PC and take your online bank money and site passwords." virus. I'm going to assume you don't want this to happen to you, so I'm going to tell you how to destroy and avoid these vicious bits of code.
---Youtube is not 100% safe---
If you see a video such as "999,999,99 gold Skycraft Minerim download free!", there's a few ways to check if its legit or not. If you click on the "Comment" box, and you see a blue square with a * in the middle saying "Comments may be with held for uploader approval" below it, it's probably fake mainly because the creator(uploader) accepts all the nice comments and hides the ones saying its a virus and to not download.
Still think not? Look at the thumbs bar (the red and green bar) at the bottom right of the video. If it's blank, that's another sign of it being fake, mainly because you can't see if it's highly unpopular(red bar) due to being unsafe.
Still not convinced? Then go to the uploader's YouTube profile(Usually by clicking his name). If its only one or two videos about hacks, its probably fake.
Just remember, these are precautions, as YouTube can be safe.
------Unheard of website------
Have you ever googled something like "Cry Far 3 cheats"? and stumbled upon a downloads website you have never heard of claiming to have the best cheat downloads?
A lot of these websites are fake, and i suggest doing a Google search like, for example: "Is uberhax0rdownloadnotvirusshiftylook,dur safe?" and clicking on a trusted and well known QA site such as Yahoo or Ask to know if they are legitimate and always go on more than one answer page just to make sure its not a person making things up.
-----Destroying the virus-----
I've been waiting for this... Are you ready? Lets destroy some binary scum!
First off, I suggest AVG free and Spybot - Search & destroy.
(Remember my techniques for finding a trust worthy website, as I probably can't post links here.)
Once you download them (Don't get the AVG trial unless if you are wanting to buy after 30 days), accept the updates for them and scan. Scans take a while, so wait a bit. Once it finishes scanning, check the results. If it says you have a couple of viruses, don't freak out and just click Quarantine (Or "Fix selected problems for Spybot) and you should be good. If there's still something wrong, or you can't get rid of one fully, look up a solution on the internet.
That's about all, but here's a couple of helpful windows commands for virus busting.
-------Windows Commands-------
CTRL+ALT+DELETE is Task Manager. (XP)
On Windows 7 (Possibly Vista too) it brings up a menu. Click on "Start Task Manager" To open Task Manager. This is mainly used for advanced virus busting, and it will come up a lot in virus solutions you find on the internet for the killing of viruses that just won't die.
The internet solution should have instructions, but if there isn't then look up how to use it fully. It can also close non-responding programs and do a few other helpful things.
ALT+F4
(Note:This works on a lot of computers, but it might not work for the odd few.)
It closes a program instantly,
which makes this good for closing pop-ups, (if you have the reflexes) closing all those small window's made by some viruses, (if you press it fast enough) and is even good for closing non-responding programs quickly without the need for task manager.
Windows Key (Or Button, whatever floats your boat.)
If a fullscreen game stops responding and doesn't want to minimize, press the windows key as it will minimize it for you.
------------------------------
That's about the only keyboard commands I ever have needed to use, and I believe that's all that is needed.

Notes:
I will post a part 2 with even more tips if you want me to, as I can't here because the blog is long enough already. Just post in the comments if you want this!
The names of the games I used are supposed to be swapped around. I don't want any copyright issues or anything.
