The RP and language chatrooms have been removed from the menus on each website. I will remove the code next time I get to the backend stuff.
Over the past couple weeks, I've been checking the chatroom menu and never see members using those chatrooms (or even the other ones - in many cases). Most role-playing has gone on in the groups for a couple years, and there was never enough demand for the language chatrooms. If you want to RP or speak another language in the other chatrooms, be my guest.
Note that this does not mean that the community is fading away. It just means that members have shifted their areas of interest to different parts of the community. Specifically, groups and blogs have been seeing a surge in popularity. To put numbers to it all, the SDK community currently sees about 650,000 page views per week. That number has been fairly steady all year, aside from a temporary climb to 1,000,000 when most members were on school vacation. This comes to about 2,000 visits per day. It is far from the 4,000 visits per day a couple years ago and the spike to 7,000 three summers (north hemisphere) ago, but it has been holding steady for a while, now.
Now for the language rooms. I speak Romanian and recently I found out moron in my language is a who other story i another so I just resolved to english and forgot my romanian quotes. So, Noroc! [Good luck] and have fun.
The rp rooms will be missed, but the reason I believe peope havent been using them is that alot of, Hate to say it, Terrible rpers and over run them. I watch their rps and its... very much like a toddler wonder land. People use groups more now because we can keep the toddlers out and they dont insult us saying we are the idiots. Im not one to fight. Iv moved my business to groups because of these child like people thinking they are better than the people who have been here longer.
You know, you could use some translation API to translate content not posted in English, maybe for chats a /translate command (or a little "t" button next to the username on the chatroom message) and a translate button for everything else.
one time I spoke slovakian and german in a chatroom and was banned... so, honestly, I say just leave the
-language- chatrooms up and running.
OR, does this mean we can speak ANY language we want to?
how will the mods know what were saying?.

It means there's no longer a NO GERMAN rule in the general rooms.
In my opinion, chatrooms will get love during the holiday seasons and when SSB4 and Mario Kart 8 come out. Probably sooner with Pokemon X and Y on the way.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Pokemon X and Y, etc has nothing to do with the SDK Community. O.o

Hull did not create them. Even if he did, how the hell would it increase activity in the chats?!

People suggested that there be a Roleplay section in the Bulletin Boards. I personally think it's a good idea. Plus, it's organized better that way. Since the groups really don't have a history to look back at on the shoutboxes, they can just look at the forum to see what they missed.

Groups in fact DO have a history button. It has to do with the delete button, in fact it IS the delete button.
