Woh, Hull is actually working on the Library! Is this Bizarro World?
I finally found some free time and dug into the Library's "Library Publisher" page. It still does not save what you edit, but I believe it is free of bugs and all ready to be updated for saving and submitting work in the near future (once other preparations are finished).
There are going to be some changes to the original Library plans, based on member feedback, so I'm giving a quick rundown:
1. Submissions do not have to be featured blogs or have a +10 or greater rating for acceptance.
2. Instead of uploading cover art on the Library Publisher page, it seemed simpler to just allow use of the Image Uploads content - which has been opened to all browsers that support file uploads. The cover art gets applied to the Library by entering the image number (the numeric part of the FIGURE tag).
3. There will be a new admin type, the Editor, to approve or decline submissions to the library.
4. It will be possible to submit "editions" to the Library to replace existing publications that need corrections or have additions.
5. The Library itself will retain the bookshelf appearance that the DSiPaint.com demo has, but there will be search and preview abilities. The zoom level and page number of the last read work will also be retained for convenience.
I anticipate roll-out of the Library to come in this order:
1. Member submission page
2. Admin approval page
3. The Library bookshelf and viewer
If time permits, I would like to get everything finally done this month.
