Several years ago, I delivered pizzas, first for Pizza Hut and later for Domino's. Anyone who has done this for an extended period of time will have tons of stories to tell. This blog series will be a combination of my own stories and those of former coworkers.
Origami
A coworker arrived at a house and rang the doorbell. A lady answered, and everything started normal for the transaction, until the angry husband appeared in the background. "Woman, you're not supposed to be ordering pizza! Get in the kitchen and make me some food!"
The lady apologized for his rudeness and completed the trade of money and food. She then leaned to a table near the door and grabbed an origami duck made from a dollar bill and handed it to my coworker. While she was doing this, the husband was back in the kitchen, loudly clanking pans and yelling "Woman, come here! Make me some food!" The lady quietly thanked my coworker, and she closed the door.
My coworker slung the warming bag under his arm and started to unfold the origami duck. After the first few folds, he noticed a "0" in the denomination and thought "Hmm, $10... not bad." As he continued to unfold, it became apparent that she had slipped him a Benjamin!
He felt kind of bad, thinking that she made a mistake, so he returned back to the house and knocked on the door. The lady quietly answered the door, while the husband continued clanking pots and pans in the kitchen, yelling "wooooman, make me some foooood!" My coworker held up the $100 Bill and asked "Did you mean to give me this?" The lady gestured back toward the kitchen and said "Don't worry; it's his."
XD You have to admit! Clanking pots and pans is fun! You may have a slight headache but still! besides the: "woman make me food!" I'd say that guy was having a good old fun time! I'm jealous! I can't do that in my house!
