First of all, sorry for my EXTREMELY long abscence from both SDK and this series. I actually typyed out this blog twice already, but the first time I accidently deleted it and the second, my computer decided to log me out before I could post it. So third time lucky eh?
So WHAT IS Adobe After Effects?
To be honest,I'm not quite sure myself.
As I said in my first blog of the series, these programs were picked at random so I had never even opened Adobe After Effects until this fateful day.
So I did a little research here and there and here's what I found:
AAF can basically be described as an animation maker/photo editor thingymaboby. It's like Photoshop for animations almost: I looked up a tutorial on how to animate ponies with AAF (lolwat) and I found out from trying this that:
A: Adobe After Effects is great for animation
B: I suck at drawing.
After my little experiment, I guess I probably know a little bit to tell you about it.
AAF Can take a while to get used to. If you know how to use Photoshop (My next review will possibly be on this) then this should be fairly easy.
For example, the puppet tool, Probably the only tool I actually know how to USE. You have a character? Click on the limbs/joints/arms/extra-terrestrial legs. It sets up a point where you clicked, so when you're animating you just drag the points and the limb moves with you WITHOUT dragging your entire drawing behind it.
Seriously, it looks quite impressive if you're into animation and want to possibly have a career in it. Although AFF is also a photo-compilation program and such, it's main use would probably be as an animaton studio.
I would literally love to tell you more about AAF, but I have as much expertise in it then a leather shoe. And if you don't know, leather shoes...are quite stupid.
(Sorry to any leather-shoe SDK members who might be offended. It's what's on the inside that counts *coughinternalorganscough*)
Aaron out.
