How does it feel to be in an argument? I assume either amusing or crushing. Sometimes you get sucked into arguments where one party has it obviously right, and the other horribly wrong; this being in respect with factual claims.
Sometimes you're put into a position where you simply can't out your thoughts together. You're simply usurped by somebody who makes a claim that they cannot prove. So if you establish an argument against a claim that has no support, you're left with a stream of simple counterclaims that you cannot keep up with.
I've been in that situation. This person questioned an unfulfilled course of action. I questioned the legitimacy of that undertaking, and this person flurried into a violent series of claims.
You see, this person has a habit of cutting me off on everything I say. Stiffly, I assume anyone who rudely interrupts me knows exactly whatever it is I am trying to convey in that moment.
This person has forced their word in every unfinished sentence. It has occurred so many times, this person has assumed that everything they believe I was going to say was exactly what I wanted to say. Now this person assumes that they can predict my nature, so whenever they interrupt me (I must have an ego), whatever they put in my mouth was going to be spat out anyways.
As a result, whenever I want to say something, that person stuffs in a whole new argument against my entirety that hardly relates to whatever it is they would never hear. A habit has developed. I have to freeze and stare intently at that person, and utter a confused "What?!" as it is my only method to express my confusion. It causes me to look extremely stupid.
How would you feel if you had to suffer through this kind of neglect? Can you imagine never making your point, and at every turn of the process you find a whole new claim that you can't relate anything on your part with? It's terrible.
That's not even the miserable aspect of my rant. Now imagine arguing with a person that hasn't even argued themselves.
Actually, it wouldn't be an argument. It's more like one party literally stating facts, and the other swatting anyway with their inferences in hopes of catching some sort of inadequacy.
The other person has no argument, only a claim. They would expect you to argue with them, but you cannot participate in an argument that does not exist. So that person assumes they have "beat" you in an argument. But, oh Lord, if you ask them to give you their support, apparently it's because you cannot formulate your own.
In fact, it is as if their only support comes from the trust or agreement of others. So somehow, people love with mentalities that trust sovereignty over facts, logical perspectives, and realistic inferences.
Many of us will excuse them as complete idiots. It kills us, deep inside, that a person of such caliber exists. We will find solstice in that fact as well.
