Have you ever been driving on a road and wish you could honk at people so loud that their cars tip over?
Well, there is a new kind of horn that you can use instead of the one your car is already equipped with. It doesn't replace it, it's an additional one.
And it's pretty strong, too. If you use it when others drive by, certainly they will be aware of it.
That's right, there's a new item in Mario Kart 8. It has a creative name:
DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN
The Super Horn!!!
You didn't think I was talking about real cars, did you? You didn't actually want to honk really loudly at other people, did you? That would be really mean.
Super Horn. Is it going to get a game? Super Mario has plenty of them. Super Horn World could be good. Give a little honk when you see a Goomba.
It probably won't get a game.
But anyway, this new item blasts the area surrounding your kart, taking out opponents and items. It even takes out babies. Nintendo decided to put a bunch of babies in Mario Kart 8.
And one major thing it does is it blows up blue shells.
What.
IT BLOWS UP BLUE SHELLS.
Want that repeated?
IT BLOWS UP BLUE SHELLS.
Again?
IT BLOWS UP BLUE SHELLS.
That is correct. IT BLOWS UP BLUE SHELLS.
Nintendo apparently was aware of your silly complaints about blue shells being too hard to avoid, so they made an item that can help you out. How does it help you out?
IT BLOWS UP BLUE SHELLS.
I never really disliked blue shells much. They're a cool item. Especially the ones that don't fly. And Mario Kart 7 and 8 have ground-based ones. So I don't really care whether or not they can be avoided. Sure, there have been times that a blue shell has screwed up a race I was in, but that doesn't mean I really wanted them to make blue shells easier to dodge.
But they did. They made an item called the Super Horn and IT BLOWS UP BLUE SHELLS.
Also, Mario Kart 8 is going to be amazing and you should read Waffle King's blog about why you should get a Wii U. They're awesome.
I liked the good ol' fashioned dodging-a-blue-shell-with-a-mushroom technique because it was challenging and added more diversity to the race. Now it looks like it's meaningless with this power.
I really don't like them fixing things that aren't broken. Same goes with the triple item power-ups that go around you.
