Hello, everyone. You know, I've eaten a lot of things in my time. That's surprising, isn't it? But it's true. What's more, most of what I eat is actually meant for human consumption.
What I think is especially weird about all this is that despite loving food and candy so much I actually can't eat a whole lot of it at once. I've always had some stomach problems, and so I really can't eat more than a few bites at any given time. I get very sick and sometimes I even end up spewing it all back up. It's a big inconvenience since there are so many things I'd like to eat. Also, the vomitting can be kind of painful.
I'm sure I'm not the only person around who physically can't eat as much as they'd like to, and so I thought of some things to do that might help cope with these problems. I hope they're useful to you.
Things You Can Do #1
No one likes vomitting, and I generally do all I can to avoid it. Unfortunately there are times when you just don't know if you can keep it down or not. When my stomach is upset and I feel things coming back up me, something I do to keep it down is rub my stomach. I don't think it physically does anything to help, but it gives me a comforting feeling, and that can be a big help.
Another thing I do is rock back and forth a bit. This definitely depends on how you personally react to motion, but for me it helps distract from the sickness.
Lastly, I find it helps to make some noise. You can sing or talk, but what's especially effective for me is humming since it doesn't require me to open my mouth. It doesn't seem like a good idea to hold your mouth wide open when you're trying not to vomit.
Most of the time I get to feeling sick after a meal at a restaurant. When I'm alone I have no trouble carefully portioning my meal, but when I'm out with people at a restaurant there's a lot of food around to tempt me and I just can't help myself. I'm told it's a little offputting when people are around eating their dinner in a public place and I suddenly hunch over, rock back and forth in my chair, and rub my stomach while humming nursery rhymes, but I don't really mind. For some reason it bothers people when I then ask for dessert, but I don't really get why. I'm the one who was just in pain after all, not them. I think I deserve a little something sweet after that ordeal.

If none of the above appeals to you and you'd like to avoid it all, then these next few tips should be used before you get to that point.
If you'd like something to eat but don't think you can take in anything more, one thing I like to do that feels very fulfilling is watch people eat the things you'd like to have. I really don't know how healthy a thing it might be to get into the habit of watching people enjoy putting things in their mouth, but I haven't run into any down sides yet.
I was working with some people a short time ago and I'd just had my lunch, so I was feeling pretty full. Someone else was still eating and it looked very tasty, but I couldn't eat any more, so what I did instead of asking for some of what they were eating, I just watched them eat it. I walked right up to them and stood there staring at their plate as they ate bit by bit. They were talking to someone at the time, so they didn't notice me for a few minutes. Then when they realized someone was hovering over them breathing heavily, the way you breathe after a big meal, they stopped eating and starred at me for a few seconds.
I smiled and said, 'Don't mind me. Please continue.'
He looked confused for moment and asked if he'd done anything and if he was in trouble.
I said, 'No, not at all.'
He said okay and slowly ate more. I kept staring.
He hesitantly asked, 'Do you want some?'
I answered, 'Oh, no, no thank you. I appreciate the offer, I really do, but I only want to watch.'
He slowly said, 'Oh... okay... that's kind of weird'
So as you can all see it's perfectly fine to watch people eat. Even if they're not used to it, they don't mind at all, as can be evidenced by the fact that the guy didn't ask me to stop. People might even be very polite about it, just like that guy was when he so considerately asked if I wanted some of his food. Wasn't that nice?
I think that's all I have room for in this blerg, so I'll stop here. Thanks for reading, and I hope something here can help some of you out.
