Since the new rage in this community is cooking yummy food, I thought I would share some insight into enhancing the juicy steak that is sitting in front of you right now (yes, the one dripping on your keyboard or touchscreen).
See, it's not so much what goes next to your steak that makes it better - though rice pilaf or lime sherbet do help. The most important matter to decide is what goes ON your streak to enhance its flavor.
I have presented the list of streak "toppings" as a top-5, so that you can stack them in this order:
5. Salt If you are not vomiting from dehydration, keep pouring on the salt.
4. Cheese I don't care about the type of cheese you put on it. Just toss on your favorite cheese (French-named or not), and allow it to melt over the steak. It's like a high-class cheese burger!
3. Gravy You learned about the states of matter in school; now I will teach you about them with steak: Take a solid steak, pour some liquid steak onto it, and you are guaranteed to release some gaseous steak later that day. The circle is complete.
2. Sautéed Mushrooms I have some vegetarian cousins. I honor them by tossing the vegetarian version of meat onto my bovine version of meat. It's the best of both worlds.
1. Another Steak There is no better topping on a juicy steak than another juicy steak. You may have to unlock your lower jaw like a snake to eat it, but the pain is well worth the effort.
