Oh poor Gamecube, so misunderstood and underappreciated. Proof of this is shown in the systems lackluster sales and its bad reputation. But is the system deserving of this? No. It was home of some of gaming's most memorable experiences, the Gamecube holds a special place in many game's hearts. Some of these include:
-The epic Resident Evil 4 (later ported to PS2 and Wii)
-Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, the visually controversial (unduly imo) Zelda title
-Viewtiful Joe, the evoker of badassery (Henshin-a-Go-Go, Baby!!)
-Metroid Prime, the eerie, amazing and bold reimagining of Metroid in 3d
-Beyond Good and Evil, a lesser-known gem
-Luigi's Mansion, an underrated launch title
-The unique Tales of Symphonia
-Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, the fun and hilarious Mario RPG
-Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat-the funkalicious DK title that used a set a bongos as its controller
-And, of course, the everlasting, Super Smash Bros. Melee!!!
Its controller is still used by nearly every hardcore Super Smash Bros. Brawl player because of ease of button reach and comfortability. Peole say the Gamecube never had a hook, although it could be put on one, thanks handle xP With a wealth of great 1st and 3rd party games, as well as a few peripherals (like the GB player) the Gamecube holds many truly great games just waiting to be experienced. Sure it may have the DVD playback of the superior (sales wise anyway) PS2 and true online play like the Xbox & PS2, it has games that many have yet to play. If you have a Wii and you're one of those who (falsely imo) claim that the Wii has nothing to play and that it's "gathering dust", then look for a back catalog of the Gamecube; you won't be disappointed.
