Howdy folks, y'all need some more southern deep-fried second amendment intelligence.
Things get real gritty in the South.
Real gritty.
Like, the grits do.
Here in America, we have hot dogs, donuts, Danyelle, pizza, fireworks, trucks, and
wait for it
guns.
It has come to my attention that some folks think they know what they are talking about, but are actually very wrong and look stupid.
HEADLINE: BANMAN RESORTS TO NAME CALLING TOWARD THOSE WHO DISAGREE WITH HIM
no
I am actually talking about people who are very wrong and look stupid.
This, of course, is referring to the argument that folks use when discussing gun laws that guns are meant for the militia.
Whew
introduction over.
See, somehow people think that the militia is synonymous with the military.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, but it's not.
They say that guns are meant for the militia and therefore citizens shouldn't have them.
That's actually an
oxymoron.
Children, time for a fun learning experience:
Militia does not equal military.
My, wasn't that fun!
So now that we know what a militia isn't, let's learn what it is. It's a group of organized citizens that are fighting together. It's actually, by definition, made up of citizens.
For example, if the Antarctic penguins were to invade the Americans and the military were not readily available, citizens could grab their weapons and fight. That's a militia.
So you can't say citizens shouldn't have guns because they should only be used by the militia. That's literally a stupid statement.
Notice this isn't a blog about whether or not guns should be allowed. But now you're smarter and can debate that topic more intelligently.
