As pointed out by other members, this community has started to undergo some changes - a metamorphosis of sorts.
This week, I've been re-skinning the icons, while jsa005 has been preparing new design elements. The goal is to have a more modern community that is merging into the umbrella of HullBreach Studios - which is the company formed by Skunkman, Arch_Enemy, and myself, to develop games on Nintendo platforms.
3DSPaint.com will be taken along for the ride, but DSiPaint.com and WiiOperaSDK.com are staying as is - since their browsers are too old to handle modern Web technologies.
The general community will be moved to SDKCommunity.com, which is the same domain name that has housed the iOS app's communication API for a couple years. This new website will not be device-specific, so it is meant to be just the general website to load on all device with modern Web browsers. The layout will be responsive to handhelds, tablets, desktops, etc. It will keep the same social gamer theme, just without being held back by the technological limits of the Nintendo DSi era.
If you would like to try out the newest current member of the community, Gallery.SDKPaint.com is available now. There are some sample paintings available, which have been exported from SDK Paint for the iPad and the Wii U. The North American version of SDK Paint is currently in review with Nintendo with its last major update, and the European / South African / Oceanian localization will follow a few weeks later. Once this is approved, we should see a resurgence of members, when new sign-ups join the community to view the online gallery.
Later this year, SDK Spriter will launch on the Wii U and have a similar website for sprite and tile pixel art. There will also be Apple TV companion apps for SDK Paint and SDK Spriter joining the community. These will allow for viewing, rating, and commenting on art - from the laziness of a couch.
Toss ideas our way! We'd like to hear what you want to see in this community.
Well. Me and Icarus sort of revived the chats by randomly talking in them for the past few days. It'd be nice if can advertise to get more members here or something. We can't keep it alive for too long.
Some improvement to messages would be a nice. Some old messages can pile up and cause the page to load slower. Make it like how the BBs are and separate the messages by pages.
Oh and as far as ideas go: Notifications for phone browsers, I know Facebook has an option for it from browsers on chrome at the very least. Included would be notification settings, IE: Groups(on or off), messages, blog replies, profile comments
