As the QE II or Queen Elizabeth the second reached its shipping lane end Princess Carolina picked up her carryon bag than preceded to the area for passengers who had interest in visiting the shore. Looking at the picturesque European port that rivaled a post card the member of the Spanish Royal family wished she could stay longer but this was a business meeting with a foreign leader. A diplomatic discussion about sporting exhibitions and a plan that could bring resolution to a serious conflict that was developing by “the Superpowers”.
Finding her way through the mass of tourists that were mulling around the cruise line dock the Princess noticed the taxi stand and quickly was the next in line.
When the driver rolled down the window the question was asked, “what castle lady? Everybody who gets off the boat wants to see the many castles that were built on the island.”
“Varina's, she stated, “I have a meeting with Varina at her castle,” the Princess continued to answer.
“Oh the smaller one, you sure you do not want to go to the big one?”
“No, Varina's castle is where I want to go.”
While the Princess was settling in the back seat she could hear the driver mention something in his native tongue about the place having a nice spa where a girl can socially introduce herself on a professional level.
Due to the resort area being small it only took a few minutes for Princess Carolina to be on the grounds of the miniature castle controlled by Varina. And in her hands-on tradition she was picking berries in the same way all the other villagers tended to the fields.
“Varina it is so good to see you after all these years,” Princess Carolina hollered during the Royal greeting.
“Oh Sweet Carolina I am so glad to see you and I know we will have a productive engagement today,” Varina told her, “I am very concerned about the issue you are here to discuss and I have had Georgia on my mind for a while.”
Pulling a notebook out she Princesa Carolina gave a relaxing glow, “I have a game plan right here that will allow Georgia to see what is going on with those who are the super powers, I call it the Challenge Cup and we invite the red white and blue flag bearers to play for it.”
“Marvelous idea, Princess Carolina and I have the perfect venue, Camber Parc, spelled with a ‘C’ not a ‘K’.”
“I thought Camber Park was in Naples that is Italy and they are red, white and green flag.”
“There is a Naples in the red, white and blue country, I googled it,” Varina confirmed as the two made their way into the castle. Sitting at the kitchen table the two continued the conversation and Varina was excited to say that the complex just opened The Café Americano and that one superpower will feel right at home with their fast food menu.
“Great idea, Varina, and I have a game to be played by the red white and blues,” Princess Carolina smiled, “you ready,” she paused, “Pin the Tail on The Donkey.”
“Really,” Varina was interested.
“Yes we blind fold them turn them around and laugh when they become three year old's, I do not think we will be insulting others instead helping those less fortunate.”
“Great idea and the less fortunate will strengthen their common senses,” Varina agreed, “now about that European Union situation?”
“Same thing we blind fold them then tell them to pin the donkey?”
Varina was now confused “I thought the Republicans were in charge of one the red white and blue countries,”
“No Varina the Republicans were charged, and it seems that the democrats are now in charge which means the Challenge Cup has to be successful.”
Shaking hands, the two separated and Princess Carolina made it to her ride that was waiting to take her back to the ship. But before getting into the cab she could hear Varina say under her breath while waving, “Pin the tail on the donkey, Princess? Whatever floats your boat.”
“Oh, Varina on the QE II the flag is red white, not red white and blue, do you know why?”
Still waving “it’s a long story,” Varina replied, “it has to do with war and peace.”
