The woman sat on the edge of the cliff, dangling her legs over the side and gazing sadly at the grey sea. Her hair, soaked by the rain, was whipping around her face as her blue eyes darkened to a cloudy grey. Her surroundings seemed to show how she felt exactly, she realised as she looked down at the empty beach and stormy sea. Wind stung her skin and blew her ragged dress around her, her thoughts scattering and fading away into the darkness ahead.
Time seemed to stop as she thought about the events of that day, about how her love had left her and walked away into the distance, without even a look back. Had he even loved her? The thought clouded her mind, only to be cut off by the thoughts of the baby in her stomach. It’s not even his, she thought; if anything, it belongs to the brother of his fiancee. She smirked. Ironic, isn’t it, she asked herself as she considered her options for the future.
5 minutes of silence passed, but then the girl spoke aloud. “I could go back to the streets, but there's no way they would accept me there anymore, now that my looks are going.†She lapsed into silence again, until she finally sighed and muttered “I guess I have to go to a charity, then.†She looked down at the sea below, that had only got choppier during her time sitting there.
Slowly, she got up, and humming softly, she began to walk away into the awaiting darkness ahead.
