February 3rd around 5:30pm I started feeling the first labor pains. I wasn't sure if it was gas or not though because they were still quite weak, but my mom and Danny kept assuring me that gas pains don't come at regular intervals. We got to the hospital around 7:00. They checked me and gave it some time, then finally checked me in like 2 hours later.
Of course the doctor and anesthesiologist were doing a c-section on another patient when I got admitted, so I waited until 11 or so to get my epidural. About 30 minutes before they got me the epidural the nurse offered me something milder for the pain, it was called nubane, or something like that. It was great, it took the edge off and made me not really care about the pain.
Around 4am I was fully dilated, but my water was still intact, so they finally broke it for me. I pushed for like 20, 30 minutes, and at 4:38 little Mitchie made his entrance to the world outside the womb!
He weighed 7lbs 6oz, and measured 18 1/2 inches long. He is a healthy boy, and has been a very good baby, not a lot of crying. We went home from the hospital Saturday morning.
GiGi has been very good with the "babees," as she calls him. I watched her give him some of her toys and tell him their names. She doesn't seem too jealous, after all, my mom is here spending lots of time with her.
We all feel so very blessed, and thank God for his new little miracle, Mitchell. Life is good!
