Minicomputers
Minicomputers were very popular in the 1960s.They have become outdated today.They were mainly used in small manufactuting plants,research labs and businesses.Minicomputers were dedigned to handle simultaneously the processing needs of multiple users.They allow many users to share acsess to the hardware through stations called terminals.A typical terminal has a keyboard,a display screen and a wire that connects the terminal to the computer system.

Mainframes
Main frames are very large powerfuk computers.They are also very expensive.These computers are systems that offer faster processing speeds and greater storage capacities than a typical minicomputer.A mainframe can handle more than hundreds of users at a time.They are found in large organizations such as banks,insurance companies,credit unions and utility companies.

Supercomputers
Supercomputers are the largest,fastest,most expensive and most powerful computers at present.They are typically used in complex mathematical calculations,scientific simulations,scientific research and development in areas such as nuclear energy,space exploration and medicine.Supercomputers are designed to process complex scientific aputations.
