Well i did a interview with HullBreach, the maker of SDK.
"Who are You?"
I go by the name HullBreach on this collection of websites (from the first one: HullBreachOnline.com), but my real name is Daniel (Danny) Gump. I am a computer programmer by trade but have an enjoyment of Nintendo games, so I combined those interests to make these websites.
"What's DSIPaint?"
DSiPaint was originally a Web application for the website DSOperaSDK.com. This Web app allows members to draw and save artwork using the Nintendo DSi stylus so that other members can view and rate it. When popularity of DSiPaint overtook the Software Development Kit portion of DSOperaSDK.com, I rebranded the website to match its flagship product.
"How Did you come up with it?"
To build on the previous question: I am not really sure how the idea for DSiPaint (the Web app) originated. I was probably speaking with a friend about a WiiPaint idea several years ago but never implemented it. After the DSiPaint Web app's release, a WiiPaint did come, too. The idea for the website came from a natural extension (in my eyes) of WiiOperaSDK.com, which contained the SDK and several demonstrations for the Wii's Internet Channel browser. The Wii Opera SDK evolved from a set of tools used to make the game HullBreach Online.
"What Features are there and what Features might come later?"
I've added so many sections to DSiPaint.com over the last two years that I have lost track of everything. Let's see... chatrooms, blogs, painting, spriting, bulletin boards, online game match-ups, several games, messaging, Web hosting, SDK, groups, an upcoming public domain library, Help Desk, Savii avatars ...I'm sure I'm missing something. Many of these ideas came from suggestions of members on the websites. I have so much more in the works, too.
"Whats HullBreach online?"
HullBreach was originally a game I made for MS-DOS in the late 1990s. I got sidetracked partway through development with school and other projects, so it was left behind until I revived it for the Wii's Internet Channel as HullBreach Online. The inspiration for HB came from Ambrosia Software's Escape Velocity series, which was on the Macintosh at that time and now has a Windows version. After DSiPaint.com became popular, I created a mobile version of HB Online that was mainly text-based. The upcoming Nintendo 3DS / iPhone version will be more like the Wii version with parallax scrolling backgrounds and real-time interactions with other players.
"Anything else before i go"?
Thank you for the interview.
