[NOTE: BOOK 4 OF THE SERIES, INHERITANCE, IS COMING NOVEMBER 8TH, 2011!]
Well, hi. I'm here to review a GRRRREAT (Says Tony the tiger) book series, known as the "Inheritance series", by Christopher Paolini.
THE AUTHOR
I want to talk about him first, I have quite the stuff to say. Mr. Paolini is in his twenties currently. When he wrote book 1 of Eragon, or at least, it was published, when he was 15. As far as I have heard, Chris may have been first writing Eragon when he was merely 10! He lives in Montana, and I hear over and over that the landscape greatly inspires Aläegasia, the land in which the series takes place.
THE BOOKS
There are currently 3/4 books of the series published. Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr. Coming the 8th of November is the 4th book, Inheritance.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Eragon, a normal farm boy, is suprised when he finds a blue stone while out hunting. Turns out, it's a dragon. To find a name for the dragon, Eragon seeks the town storyteller, Brom. He asks him "What were some of the dragon's names?" and eventually names it Saphira, the female dragon.
Soon Eragon goes on a huge journey of Truth, Love, and Battles. Ruled under the dark king Galbatorix, Eragon must find a way to defeat him.
There are also 4 main races in Aläegasia: Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Urgals, who are similar to trolls.
Let me say there is a LOT more to explain, so why not read the books?
By the way, you might've seen the movie. Well, that movie is WAY off. Completely diffrent.
Extra: Christopher Paolini wrote 1/3 of Brisingr with a quill and ink!
