Hey there! I was bored so I felt like reviewing my absolute favorite video game, Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, part 1/3 in the Starcraft II series.
First and foremost, i will explain what Starcraft is. Starcraft is a Real-Time RPG computer game developed by BLIZZARD that features 3 entirely different but equal matched races. These races include the Terrans(humans), the long-living alien race known as the Protoss, and the vile insect-like race known as the Zerg. The events that take place in Starcraft happen in a place near the outer rim of the milky way known as the koprulu sector
The Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty campaign focuses mainly on the Terrans. In the campaign, you follow a man named Jim Raynor and his rebel force, Raynor's Raiders, as they fight to liberate themselves, from the Terran Dominion and their Emperor, Arcturus Mengsk. However, in the middle of all this, the Zerg and their leader, The Queen of Blades, who happens to be a human who had been altered to serve the zerg, start to invade and infest many worlds. There are also other missions where you collect pieces of an ancient and powerful artifact just for a quick buck. But who knows, maybe this artifact just might help you with something very important.
Gameplay: in starcraft, the object is to build up a base, mine resources, build an army, and crush your opponent. you use workers to mine resources that can be used to build military buildings. from these military buildngs, resources can be used to make units to fight the enemy. Eventually, once you have you economy built up, you can build better military buildings and create higher tier units, such as air units.
the campaign is full of many different types of missions, such as a plain ole' destroy the enemy mission, Hero missions, where you control a single character and cause as much damage as you can, and missions where the goal is to raise a certain amount of resources. The campaign is non-linear, and even a few missions can be skipped. however, the more missions you complete, the better you will fare in the long run. Everytime you complete a mission, you get credits to spend on upgrades for your army or you can use the credits to hire mercenary units that are more powerful than your regular run-of-the-mill units. Also, completing more missions will unlock more units that you can train in combat. In almost every mission, there are also research opportunities that will gain you research points that can be spent on helpful perks for your army.
aside from the single player campaign, there is the glorious multi-player mode. in the multi-player mode, your goal is to simply build up your base and destroy your opponent. however, in each game, you only start with 6 workers and a main building. when you first start Starcraft multiplayer on battle.net, you get put through placement games. After placement, you get split into a league depending on your skill level. after that is done, you can rise through the ranks in 1v1 through 4v4 matches.
The game's graphics depends on how good your computer is and what-not. the range of graphics is from average to very fine details across every map you play, as well as very fluid movements for your units and so-on.
Yeah, so Starcraft II:Wings of Liberty is by far my favorite game. its full of awesome action, great plot, and awesome multiplayer.
