Have you ever been surfing Facebook and seen ads for a game called Miscrits? Ever wonder what it's like, what it is, what it's about?
I'll give you a bit of detail.
Miscrits is a single player Facebook RPG similar to Pokemon, This FLASH game developed by Broken Bulb (The makers of Braaaiiins and other fun games) has been out for a while and very actively played by many people.
The main story is pretty simple enough, your character wakes up in the Miscriean Forest and is found by a guard who works the gate between Sunfall Village and the Forest. The guard believes your character is the "Chosen one" who will end up saving the world and decides to tell you a bit about the game and gives you your first Miscrit. What, you were expecting Professor Oak or something?
You are given a choice to pick one of YOU GUESSED IT! Three Miscrits, Prawnja, Flue, and Flowerpiller of the expected Water, Fire, and Nature elements respectively. At first you are unable to go anywhere but the Forest, but after your character (not Miscrits) reach Level 5, You will be allowed to access the Battle Arena which will be explained later along with strategies for the arena.
There are six different areas in total, one for each boss. Most of these areas are locked, however there are currently two areas that will be locked only to new players until their character reaches a certain level, Mount Gemma and Sunfall Shores the rest are locked to all players until the areas are released.
The bosses available to fight are the Rock and Water Elementums found in Mount Gemma and Sunfall shores, these are creatures which serve the Magicite Apollo Nox. Apollo Nox is supposedly going to be the final boss you'll need to face.
Now more about the creatures themselves. There are six elemental types of Miscrits to be found Fire, Water, Nature, Rock, Wind, and Lightning. Don't expect to find all six elements in one area, Rock, Lightning and Wind don't appear until Mt. Gemma at the earliest. Miscrits are able to be leveled up at the cost of a few training points, starting off at one point and the cost increasing slowly as it gets higher in order to keep the game challenging. As you'd probably guessed already, as the creatures level up they get stronger in different ways at different rates, and they also "Evolve".
Unlike Pokemon however, ALL Miscrits go through four stages of evolution, the levels at which new attacks are learned are the same, as well as the levels for evolution. Unfortunately this was a big mistake, because after playing for a few months it became too predictable when training my 'scrits.. Another point which is slightly irritating is the fact that you aren't able to choose when to let your Miscrit evolve, it's a choice of either keeping it below the evolution level, or evolving it.
The art and animations are another point that could have been improved, for example, though your character is capable of walking in N, S, E, W, NW, NE, SW, SE, directions, he'll only be facing one of four directions, North, South, East, or West.
While a lot of creatures are drawn very nicely, some of them like the Flameling for example, could use more contrast between the scales and the body..
All things considered, this game is very entertaining, and worth a good try. Hopefully this blog has made you decide if you'll try the game or not.

You'd be amazed how much some Facebook games encroach on copyright infringement if you look hard enough. This doesnt. It just lacks originality and good art, imo.
