Chapter One: Prequel.
"It was a short day at school today" Jared said to his father, "It was something about a breach in the mainlands defence"
"Ah, I heard of the same. Apparently, we arn't to leave the house."
"What? No! Why today? We were supposed to visit mom in the hospital!"
"I know, son... I know."
~~~~~
"Hey Adam."
"Oh hey, what're ya' doing home so early?" tolled the deep voice of Jared's brother.
"Evacuation."
"Aaaahh, I forgot. The stupid government and their expiriments... Well wanna play som--"
CRASH!
An echoing boom stabbed Jared's eardrums. He had blacked out.
~~~~~
"Mmmmehhh... Uuhhhg."
I stood up and cluched my ribs.They were undoubtedly broken. I gained sense of where I was. Adam's room! But... there was a gaping hole in the wall. Insulation and moldy rubble littered the floor. My curiosity begining to peak I headed towards the hole, but it was snuffed as I heard a loud yell, followed by strange, hiss like voices...
"Where is the boy?"
THUMP!
"AUUGH!"
My heart stopped. That was Adam.
I ran out to the demolished hallway, barely registering that my room was on fire.
I reached the opening and gasped. The ugliest, most HIDEOUS bi-pedal creature was holding my brother up by the throat.
"Tell me! WHERE I--"
He slowly drowned his command with a wide, nasty grin.
"Finish the man."
Realizing that there was two of them, I gasped again. The second one was holding my dad upside-down. Blood was dripping from his forehead. He looked unconcious.
But, a second later, the beast drew a stone blade and impaled my father. I couldnt take it. my knees went weak and I threw up on the floor, my face drenched with tears. I lifted my head weakly and watched the first creature slam my brothers head againt a stone support beam. He was dead. The two things were closing in on me and... I just lost it. I remember my body glowing, then there was a brilliant light explosion.
