Encyclopedia Dramatica, or ED, was a parody website of Wikipedia. ED was a website designed to give false and satirical information about almost everything around the interwebs, and beyond. The website was funny, evil, and pointless. ED was the website that all of people went to for a quick lol or two.

ED become synonymous with trolls and groups like Anonymous. ED was recognized as the former troll headquaters due to the articles trolling people or anything else. ED trolled my older brother, Hiryuu Goki (thats his deviant art name). The website's articles are made to look comprehenzive and informal.

Now for the history of Encyclopedia Dramatica. ED was founded on December 10, 2004, by Sherrod DeGrippo, or Girlvinyl. It went down on April 16, 2011. ED was recognized by the New York Times Magazine as "an online compendium of troll humor and troll lore" and as a "troll archive". A european information technology magazine named C't pointed out how it introduced interweb newbies to the 4chan sub-culture.

In 2006 ED's founderDegrippo was attacked with a series of threats by a group of trolls who didn't get an edit of a page describing them. Then in 2008, ED began asking for donations due to the attacks and the loss of advertisment money.

An example of ED's trolling was when they released an article about Aborigonals. It was described as racist and got a request from the austrailian government for it to be removed.

Despite all of that Encyclopedia Dramatica won the people's choice award for best wiki, even beating wikipedia.
