Maybe you have heard of this, maybe not, it's a story I heard at school with a very interesting meaning. I'll tell it the best I can, but it isn't told like this exactly. Let's get started, no?
Once upon a time, there was a happy village full of nice people. When the children turned to age 3, they were given a bag of Warm Fuzzies. The people gave each other their Warm Fuzzies alot. They gave them to people they loved. With the Warm Fuzzies, everyone was happy.
One day, though, an evil witch came into the village with a bag of Cold Pricklies. She told one of the villagers, "You shouldn't give away your Warm Fuzzies, you might run out! Here, give these Cold Pricklies away instead." And she handed the villager the bag. The villager decided she was right, so he gave out Cold Pricklies and kept his Warm Fuzzies to himself. Soon everyone wanted Cold Pricklies, and they got them from the witch and began giving them away. When you got a Cold Pricklie, though, it was like swallowing a pincushion. It made everyone unhappy. The witch had gone, but her plan had succeeded.
But then, one day, a prince walked into the town with a bag of Warm Fuzzies. Almost immediently, a villager tried to give him a Cold Prickly, but the Prince knew it was bad, and he refused it. The villager was shocked. The prince said, "You must give away Warm Fuzzies, not Cold Pricklies! Those only make you unhappy."
"But what if we run out of Warm Fuzzies?" replied the villager.
"Every time you give away a Warm Fuzzy, a new one appears in your bag!"
So, the prince had the villager try it out, so he gave the prince a Warm Fuzzy. The villager noticed he still had the same amount of Warm Fuzzies before. So, the villager showed everyone around the village, and nobody gave away Cold Pricklies anymore, and everyone was happy again.
The meaning works like this: Warm Fuzzies in real could be nice things, like compliments. If you give away those, people become happy. Cold Pricklies do the opposite.
Yeah, I've heard this 3 times now. They tell the story at summer camp I went to last year and the year before. They dress like crazy people and throw popoms everywhere. xD
I do not consider this plagiarism, because it was retold by himself. I know, my Kindergarten teacher used to tell us this story many times long ago.
It teaches a valuable lesson that is overlooked these days. They probably don't tell stories like this anymore in school.
Thank you for sharing this blog. Some of us need the lesson here.
