Hey everybody! Happy March! Being a huge follower of the theme park industry I thought I'd give you a heads up on some of the awesome attractions coming to amusement parks worldwide this year.
Disneyland Resort(California):
The Five Year Billion Dollar expansion of Disney California Adventure is set to officially be complete on June 15th 2012. The expansion began with the addition of Toy Story Mania, Continued with Silly Symphony Swings, World of Color, Little Mermaid, and soon Carsland, Hollywood Trolleys, and a brand new entrance plaza.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Virginia)
The 50 million dollar roller coaster experience named Verbolten, a replacement for the park's shuttered "Big Bad Wolf" coaster has begun ride testing and has been extensively shown in a media construction tour. The ride is themed to the German Autobahn, and what happens when you make a wrong turn...into the Black Forest...
Universal Orlando Resort (Florida)
The recently closed Jaws attraction on the Studios side has been completely razed to make way for a brand new area in the future. The area is expected to be an expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and is expected to be themed to London and Diagon Alley. The big highlight of the area will be a Gingotts themed roller coaster with a very high tech ride system. This expansion is also rumored to include a Hogwats Express linking both lands together across a mile of backstage areas. Technology similar to that of Universal's King Kong 360 3D attraction.
Canda's Wonderland (Canada)
The park's brand new 30 million dollar Giga Coaster (a coaster that rises above 300 feet) is set to begin testing in a few weeks. The coaster, appropriately named "Leviathan" is coaster maker B&M's largest coaster, and is set to debut at the park this spring.
Universal Studios Hollywood (California)
Universal Studios is set to debut their brand new Transformers: The Ride attraction this spring. Developed with close guidance from film director Michael Bay, the ride is an intense five minute journey through the world of Transformers in an Autobot named Evac. The is built on two stories and uses high speed elevators to transport you between each one. The ride also uses the latest in high tech HD projectors and crystal clear 3-D animation. And Shia won't be making an appearance.

Haha thanks! I just did some of the more interesting updates.
Cedar Point will be getting "Dinosaurs Alive" an up charge attraction of Millenium Island that replaced the Paddlewheel Excursion. It will feature large animatronic dinosaurs in a walkthrough environment.
King's Island is closing their "Krypt" indoor flat ride. It was a HUSS Giant Top Spin, the only one of it's kind in the world.
It is being replaced by a new Haunt Maze for Haunt 2012.
