WWWWWhat is up guys, I'm making a blog(obviously) about tips that will help you be a better quick scoper in MW3.
First tip is to choose your sniper rifle wisely. Since this is quickscoping we're talking about, let's exclude the RSASS, and the Dragunov, cause seriously, those suck, and you need 2 hits in the body just to kill the enemy player. You'll only get a one shot kill if it's a headshot, and trust me, that will not help you.
I'd like to start of explaining the Barrett50cal. Which is a semi automatic Sniper Rifle. This sniper rifle is the very first one you get, but it's really powerful, has a large mag, and is Semi-automatic. I would consider this sniper rifle overpowered, because it compares to the other bolt actions which of course have a multiplyer of x1.5 if hit on the chest, or insta-kill on the head, and it is a semi auto. Though if you like being a douche, you'd love this gun with the ACOG attatchment and steady aim. Be sure to have scavenger, Because the Barrett chews up Ammo if you plan to spray it all.
The L118A is perfect for beginners. It's very popular in choice, because it is the sniper rifle with the highest mobilty. It's helpful because it makes you a harder target while you're trying to quick scope(if you know how to move that is).Though it's fire rate is 50 rounds per minute, it'll get you where you're going.
The AS50 is similar to the Barrett50Cal., but it's a little crappier, since it's reload time is sorta slow, and the kick is just stupid, plus it has a smaller mag, and the scope doesnt have as much zoom. but if you're a variable zoom fan, I suggest you start quick scoping with this one.
My personal favorite, the MSR. It's a very good bolt action sniper rifle, and it happens to be the last one you unlock. Though scoping in time wont be as fast as the L118A(which is faster scoping in), It has a higher firerate, and is more accurate. Steady aim will do you wonders if you quick scope with this gun. It has the same stats as the L118A, but less mobility, half the reload time, and faster fire rate. If you love one shot kills, use this one, dude.
On to quick scoping.
I'll explain no scope first. When you no scope, the bullet shoots off at a random direction, and not straight. so careful doing this. Sniper rifles were made for long distances in the first place. People hated being free kills to whoever snuck up behind them so they invented Quick Scoping. Quick scoping is scoping in as fast as you can to shoot the bullet straight. QuickDraw let's you scope in in half the time, so that perk2 is a MUST to quickscope. Quick scopes seperate into two kinds: Drag Scoping, which is scoping in, quickly correcting the crosshairs till it's on your enemy, and shooting as soon as you see the crosshairs on him. and Pop Shots, which are risky, but faster, cause all you do is aim straight, and shoot as fast as you can. Pop shots are used when an enemy is just coming straight up at you. But if you like to be sure, just dragscope the whole way.
Tips for quick scoping.
When quick scoping, you must stand still while scoping in, or the bullet will pull to the left, or right. just let go of the right stick, and shoot, then move again, and so on.
Silent shot with the throwing knife is done by shooting a bullet, and using your throwing knife at the same time that you shoot. The shot comes out silent, and doesn't pop up on radar. Though you hear it on your screen, you won't hear it on theater cam.
A cheap move with the barret50cal. is when you have steady aim, to decrease the size of the crosshairs and you spray away. This is used for short distance, so the barret would make a nice shotgun.
Marksman works for drag scoping long distances if you're swift on your controller.
If you are dragscoping, make sure your sensitivity is higher than 6, to adjust the scope fast. if you play on low sensitivity, get used to high sensitivity, or go back to using assault rifles, or SMG's.
Shuffling to the side works wonmderfully for making you a hard target when quick scoping. It works best with the L118A.
It's always good to have a throwing knife with you incase you miss the first shot of your sniper, and you panic.
When quick scoping, stay calm, if someone charges at you with an smg, there's a 50-50 chance he'll miss the first couple shots. So quick scope away.
That'll be all, thank you for reading my Quick Scoping Blog.
Who uses scavenger when sniping? Just use Ext Mags. Also Quickdraw is a must, obvious, but you didn't mention it, L118A has AIDS and the 50-50 chance is a made up statistic.
Bolt action is more for the pros. The .50 Cal is just panic fire. I use the L118A until I unlock the MSR. And most of this blog is self-based. There is a unique way for everyone to quickscope and I don't believe it has written rules on how to do it.
