The small child watched out the window eagerly. the water below looking as if it were swarming with tiny fire flys. the glow of the dying sun setting the sky ablaze.
Soon though at the end of the road she sees a beast laying on the side of the road, his brown fur short, on the tips of some of the hair it was pure white.
The bobcat had once roamed around the woods. the child had seen it before but her heart broke at his lifeless body. he lay curled up, his head tucked under his paws as if he died in great pain. no dout he suffered.
The girl shrank in her seat in the car, silent tears streaming down her face.
She looks back out the window again over a lake, time seemed to slow down. in the center of the red water was a log which perched proudly was the bobcat.
His golden eyes met her light blue ones an her heart stopped.
She pressed her nose against the glass, her tiny hands wanting to reach to him.
“Caxinro” she instinctivly called. the majestic beast blinked as if reconizing his name.
Slowly he vanished an time sped back up. the girl looked around frightened, yet somehow peaceful.
That night as she lay in bed asleep, her small cat minx jumped on her bed, his green eyes bright an watching something on the end of the bed.
There sat Caxinro, a gold aura around him as he watched over the child. she was the only one who cared for his death. she will make a great guardian of life. but for the time being she will be guarded by Caxinro, the Mighty bobcat. who once was an will be again, King of the Florida Wilds.
