So, hey you all. Thought I'd make a blog about a recently released social networking website that I co-develop for, SocialCu.Be:

SocialCu.Be is multifaceted website, much like HullBreach's set of "Paint" websites, with areas ranging from a forums/bulletin boards area to a drawing application. It was created and is maintained by some well-known users/developers in the 3DS/DSi/WiiU websites community:


*LunchMeats101 (Creator and former Admin of the now-defunct DSiHub.com)
*AnthonyDK (Creator of DSiComm and former Admin/Moderator of the now-defunct DSiHub.com)
*.:A-MAN:. (Creator of the Klub websites)
*Myself obviously


Each of us brings some great assets and skills to the table, from design and logo-making (LM101 and A-MAN are kings here, as you've/you'll see in this blog) to server-side shenanigans (Anthony and I) and client-side scripting (Lunchmeats101 and I (; ). A great touch that .:A-MAN:. has implemented for us is that the site is compatible with ANY browser, of any screen size, at full screen. The CSS necessary to do this is simple, but it makes the site compatible with essentially all web browsers, which is needed for the following feature we offer:

.:A-MAN:. and Anthony have worked hard on a great feature from the old DSiHub: Themes.

On Socialcu.Be, users have the option to create and name custom site themes, altering the design of the website on their login session. These themes can be used by other users who're interested in them. The can also be edited after they've been saved if need be as well. However, if you do not know the web programming language called CSS, you won't be able to create your own custom theme currently.

As an aside, you can also style your profile page.

Profile, Levelling and Decals

As mentioned, each user has their own customizable profile page, which has an editable biography section, and can be styled/designed with CSS. Profiles can also be commented on and request friendships from.

Creating content on Cu.Be nets you site currency (cu.bes) and gives you experience points, which eventually level you up and may earn you certain achievements (Decals) or access to BETA content earlier.

QuickNotes

For those of you who remember DSiHub, you may remember the drawing application there called QuickNotes:

QuickNotes was originally a DSi browser drawing application created by Lunchmeats101. It actually inspired HullBreach to improve the old DSOperaSDK painting app as I recall

Any how, I've resurrected QuickNotes, with a good many improvements.
The biggest is the ability to edit your QuickNotes after saving them! Now, I've even figured out a way to enable QuickNote editing on the DSi browser, though it is by no means the optimal way I wished to do it. However, after messaging with Hull, I might know a better way, so stay tuned there.




Do you get annoyed with the way the "Paint" application here uses for color selection? Well fret no more, with QuickNotes, changing your stroke color is as simple as pressing the Down button on your 3DS/DSi/keyboard and entering a color name (ex: blue ), a hex value or an RGB color code and voila!, different stroke color.
In addition, the canvas size for QuickNotes on the DSi and 3DS web browsers is full screen, so more room for you detailed artists. ;D

Other improvements include an Options page, on which you can set:
-The default QN canvas background color
-The default stroke color
-The default line cap and line thickness

When viewing saved Notes, you can save the the Note (3DS users), comment and/or rate the Note.

I worked hard creating this application, so I hope you all enjoy it..... and I hope to make Hull a bit jealous. XD

Status Feed, Forums, Blogs and Chatting

The status feed is essentially a sort of posting terminal, like Twiiter here. You can make posts, comment on them, as well as like/dislike posts. Like the well-known site "Twitter", you can "@" users. No hash tags though! Lastly, you can even set the Feed to only display the posts of users you've friended.

If you've used the Bulletin Boards here, you know what our Forums are like. 'Nuff said.

Cu.Be gives you the option of creating your own series of related blogs. Like Paint, well-made blogs may get featured by a staff member, appearing at the top of the blogs page.





We only currently offer one chatroom, and improvements should arrive in the coming weeks. PATIENCE.

On the Horizon...

There are a good number of features coming to SocialCu.Be in the pretty near future, such as a market area in which users can submit their own applications to the site, the previously mentioned "achievements" system (Decals) and a Nintendo 3DS Browser game made by me, so we're by no means done with the site!
