So, as all you noobs have noticed, I haven't been on here much these days. It's a common theme amongst players of video games, though, to miraculously lose time due to their addiction. What I have is a summary of my addiction over the past half year:
Game & Wario (Wii U) - This game is definitely a perfect party game. It is well worth the $40 investment for only one mini-game called "Islands". In this mini-game, for those unfamiliar with it, you shoot these weird cube-like critters called Fronks on to platforms in the water. The goal of the game, like any other game, is to win! ...or for the trolls out there, the goal is to make someone else lose. This mini-game is for 2-5 players and everyone uses the Gamepad. All other games, single or multi player are just bonuses.
Earthbound (Wii U Virtual Console) - Second best classic RPG ever! First best was Final Fantasy 6 (3 on the SNES). With things like big foot liking beef jerky and zombie invasions happening before they were mainstream, this game was before its time and is definitely worth the $10 investment!
Tank! Tank! Tank! (Wii U) - This is a port of the arcade game with the same title with some minor changes for multiplayer mode. Trying to unlock everything in single player takes forever. Multiplayer can be fun if all four tanks are humans. This is a better party game than single player game. If you like senseless destruction and tank-on-tank action, get a physical copy since it will most likely be less than $20. The digital download last I checked adds up to over $30.
Pikmin 3 (Wii U) - I don't think I need to really describe this game as it is a Pikmin game and, therefore, is awesome. For those that have played this: BINGO BATTLE! For those that have not: BINGO BATTLE! Nintendo also has released two packs of downloadable content for this game. If you have a Wii U, you need this game.
Pokemon X (3DS) - ...over 60 hours so far. Trying to breed for some perfect stat Pokey-mens. So much time invested...
Wind Waker HD (Wii U) - Zelda game, high definition. Yes, it is a remake of the Gamecube version, but the graphics are so awesome! It's like playing a cartoon! Miiverse integration with the Tingle Bottles is a really nice new touch. Swift Sail = best item in game (anyone that played the original and had to slowly sail places would agree).
Mario Kart 7 (3DS) - Of course, I've had this game forever. I've gotten a VR of over 10k and have collected over 25k coins. It's still fun to troll noobs in online races. The most time this gets from me, though, is lunch every day. A group of my friends at work have 3DSes and MK7 and we meet at Taco Bell to play. There are usually 5-8 of us that go each day.
World of Warcraft, Warcraft 3, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Goldeneye (N64), Diddy Kong Racing (N64) and DOTA2 make this list, too, but they're not quite what this site is about, so no descriptions will be made by me.
And with Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds on their way, things will just get worse time-wise!
I'm sure I'm missing a game or two, but those are at least the most memorable ones that have been fulfilling my video game addiction and preventing me from trolling nooblets on this website. I apologize for the neglect you all must be feeling by not getting Ban Hammers of Awesomeness smacking you out of chatroom existence for 24 hours.
Feel free to share comments about your video game addictions below!
Just yesterday morning I muse to myself, "Why doesn't the Skunk come on anymore?" Lo and behold, materialization. A few N64 games including NHL Breakaway have periodically held my attention for the past year, while Animal Crossing, TES, and 2K have defined my summers.
A fan of Blizzard? I play Warcraft 3 every now and then still, because it is awesome even with it being as old as it is. I'd play Starcraft 2 if my computer didn't cause the internet in my house to go ungodly slow. I am currently playing Diablo 3 on console, much better than PC version.
You are thinking of a share unit, which is equal to 100 individual shares. I have 64 ADR shares (NTDOY), which comes to about 10 individual shares (NTDOF).
Lolwut. XD But personally, they MAINLY went downhill.
Metroid Prime 3 was really good, so was Twilight Princess. They had a few really good games, but overall I don't like their modern console series. Their portables are great, though. Couldn't ask for more from a high-power portable system.
Nintendo made some of the best games last generation. Super Mario Galaxy, and SMG2, were some of the top games of the generation. Skyward Sword is widely looked upon as a Zelda game to rival even Ocarina of Time. Xenoblade is quite possibly THE best JRPG of the entire generation. Donkey Kong Country Returns is an amazing platformer. And, while not AS amazing, New Super Mario Bros Wii sold exceptionally and brought the joy of a simple 2D Mario game to a new generation of gamers.
And that's only Nintendo's AAA stuff.
Nintendo's more obscure stuff was also really well done. Animal Crossing City Folk, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Battalion Wars 2, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Wario Land Shake It, Punch-Out, Pandora's Tower, and more.
And that's only the Wii stuff.
Then there's all of the DS stuff. Which was widely looked upon as the best handheld of all time. And now 3DS, which is quickly overtaking that title. And now the Wii U.
In other words, you're a snob.
Freaking Elitist.
Also, that's your opinion, you can't change my dislike about modern nintendo CONSOLES.
Nintendo Portables are great
I give credit where it's due. M$ and Sony have had their share of good things, and Steam did bring life to a dying platform.
Nintendo also shared in these good things. They just happened to make more considerable advancements is all, instead of a figurative arms race like M$ and Sony have been doing.
I'm merely laying out a few facts. You're just going purely on fanboyisms.
Like I said, you just have bad opinions and should feel bad.
Elitist.
And I'm not fanboying. Nintendo HAS had good things.
YOU should feel bad for being a hypocrite.
Anyhow, fighting aside, Wii U is not the most glorious console. It's a GIANT DS with a TV as the top screen. Personally, I prefer the Wii, and better yet, the GameCube, which is nostalgia to the max, along with the N64. I remember my GameCube days. Those were the bomb.
But uh, monetary stats don't really change my mind, stop forcing your Nintendo religion. Alright? GOOD.
You're right, that's why the Nintendo Wii has the top sales for all consoles of that generation and the Nintendo DS has the top sales of all handhelds of all time. Definitely downhill...
