This is the part in Finn’s life that he no longer is the little adventurer-Boy. He is now a man who was forced to grow up to quickly. He now resides in the Candy Kingdom. He started a band with his friend Marceline. A couple of years ago, He asked Marceline, to marry him and rule the Candy Kingdom with him. The day after the wedding, they took their band on a tour of the Land of Ooo. In the middle of the tour, however, Finn got a call from Jake’s wife, Lady.
“Finn, 나는이 말을하는 방법을 알고 있지만하지 않는, Jake 자신의 마지막 다리에 서있다, 그리고 그는 당신과 마르 셀린은 여기 와서 그를 방문 할 필요합니다.”(Finn, I don’t know how to say this but, Jake is standing on his last leg, and he needs he needs you and Marceline to come over here and visit him.)
“Oh, ok Lady, I’ll be right there.” Finn hung up the phone. Finn started to pack his suitcase.
“Who was that?” Marceline asked.
“I got a call from Lady Rainacorn. She said that Jake is inches from death, and we need to go and see him.” Finn said. Marceline started to pack her things.
“So, what? Are we just going to cancel the tour?”
“We can postpone it. Jake is my friend and I need to be there for his last moments.” Finn knew this day was coming. He started his truck that he built with the Banana Man. Finn and Marceline arrived at the Candy Kingdom.
“Finn? What are you doing? This isn’t Lady’s house.”
“I know that. I just need to get something for Jake.” Finn ran into his royal bedroom and pressed a button hidden under the light switch. The far wall in his bedroom opened to reveal a vault. Finn opened the vault and grabbed a video tape. Finn wandered down the hall a bit and found his trusted robot-friend, BMO.
“BMO I need you to come and visit Jake with me.”
“BMO can do this.” Finn grabbed BMO and headed back to the truck. When they reached Lady’s house, Finn started to speak.
“Look, I’m going in alone. I have a tape our dad made for this situation. After I show him this, I’ll signal you to come in.”
“I understand. Go.” Finn took BMO and headed for the house. When he entered, all of Jake’s Pups were gathered around him. When they noticed Finn, they all ran over and gave him a hug.
“It’s okay, guys, I just need to speak with Jake in private.” The 5 Pups left the room to leave Jake, Finn, and Lady.
“Hey, Jake.”
“Finn? Is that you? Oh, I’m so glad you’re here! How are you?”
“I’ve seen better days, Jake.”
“Same here.”
“BMO, can you come here for a second?” BMO stopped talking with the Pups and got on the bed with Jake.
“Hi BMO.”
“Hello, Jake.” BMO gave Jake a hug and started to walk to the center of the room.
“BMO, play video.” The video fuzzed in and out before showing Joshua the Dog, the boys’ father.
“Hello, boys. If you’re watching this video that means one of you is on their death bed. If it is Jake, Keep playing. If its Finn, Put in tape B.” The video fuzzed out and then back in.
“Jake. I love you. Please remember that. There’s nothing I can do to help you. But give you my thoughts on this tape.” Jake and Finn started to tear up.
“Turn it off BMO.” Finn said.
“Jake I’ve got to go. I can’t see you like this.”
“I understand. Finn, it was nice seeing you.”
Finn walked outside and signaled for Marceline to come inside and see jake. Finn sat inside the truck and called Peppermint buttler.
“Hello? Finn is that you?”
“You can still teleport right?”
“Y-yeah, why?”
“I need you to get my green pack out of my room and teleport to Lady’s house.” Within 2 minutes Pbut knocked on the glass of the truck. Pbut handed the pack to Finn.
“Thanks, Pbut. Jake’s in there if you want to visit him.”
“Thanks Finn. I just might do that.” Pbut walked into Lady’s house and left Finn alone. Finn laid a blanket down in the bed of the truck and lied down on it. He opened his pack to reveal a very strange substance. He picked up a cup and a straw and started to suck on the substance. Finn quickly laid back down on the blanket. He stared at the sky. And watched his life play through. That was the reason he went into the Princesses’ lab. He knew she made this because she wanted nothing but to be happy. He remembers when he caught the Princess using the Drink a while back.
“Princess, what are you doing?”
“Experiencing. Finn. I’ve created a ‘drug’ if you will, a mild hallucinogenic.”
“But aren’t drugs bad?”
“Yes, when this drink was a prototype, it was bad. But I’ve modified the formula and tested it on many candy people. And it now uses the user’s happiest memories. So no physical or mental damage done unlike all other drugs. So it’s safe to use for any age. But one restriction is you have to be lying down. If you are standing or sitting, you’ll start acting sporadically.”
“So, it’s safe for all ages?” Finn asked poking the strange liquid.
“Yes, come here and lay next to me. Try some.” Finn was hesitant at first but he would do almost anything to get closer to the princess. He got on the bed and stuck the straw and sucked on the liquid. He started to see the first time he rescued the Princess from the Ice King. Everything was about the same but everyone’s voice was different except for Jake’s.
“Finn?”
“Yeah? What?”
“Let’s go home. You can do that stuff all day there.” Later, at the Candy Kingdom, Finn was thinking about how he could save Jake from death. He began writing all of his ideas until he ran out of ideas.
He remembered an all-powerful inter-dimensional being named Prismo. Anyone who entered his dimension would be granted 1 wish of anything he desired. Finn knew that would be the only feasible way to return everything back to normal. He quickly gathered his things and approached Peppermint butler.
“Pbut. Is it possible to make a portal to Prismo’s Dimension?”
“Oh! Of course it is! I never even thought about Prismo. I feel so stupid that I didn’t even think about it.
“It’s ok. Just can you do it?”
“Yes, Finn.” Pbut opened a portal to Prismo’s dimension.
“Thank you, Pbut.” Finn knelt down and hugged Pbut. Finn jumped through the portal.
“Now, where is it?” Finn looks around the empty space. There’s nothing but rubble floating around and stars in the far distance. He looks around for a while and then he spots Prismo’s house. A giant golden box floating in the distance. Finn hops from one piece of rubble to another. He reaches Prismo’s house.
“Greetings, I am the almighty time lord Pris- wait, aren’t you that guy that was here with Jake awhile back?”
“I am Finn yes.”
“Oh, how are you doing?”
“I’ve seen better. And maybe you can help me see better in the future.”
“Oh, is that so?”
“Yes, but wait, wasn’t the Lich King trapped here?”
“He was. But he died because he didn’t have his power well or something.”
“Oh. Hmm.”
“So, how is Jake doing?”
“Honestly, Jake is standing on his last leg.”
“Oh, is that so?” Jake was rustling in his bed when all of a sudden, a jar of pickles fabricated on Jake’s nightstand.
“Oh, Prismo. How did he know?”
“Prismo, I’ve come here to ask you for a wish."
“Ask it.”
“I wish my life was full of happiness.”
“Whoa, that’s pretty vague, you sure you want to keep it like that?”
“Yes, I don’t want to see my friend die. I just want to live happily.”
“I see no evil in your heart, so I’ll see what I can do.”
Finn’s soul was pulled out of his body, whirled around and put back. Finn was forced out of the wormhole and down onto the ground of the altered dimension he had entered. A world where ignorant bliss might be achieved. A world where, he knew, happiness lay somewhere for him. Finn landed gracefully on the ground. Legs bending beneath him as he fell absorbing most of the shock of the push out of the rip in space. He hovered there squatting for a minute, eyes pressed shut. Afraid of what might be in front of him when he opened them. With is eyes remaining foreign to the world he now existed in, his fingers unlaced from the clenching fist he had made on his journey to the altered dimension. Slowly, as he lowered his hand to the ground, he opens his eyes for the first time. His pain stained eyes took in the bright sun, squinting because of its light. The tips of his fingers glazed the first blade of grass erupting from the ground. He let the air he had been holding captive inside his lungs escape. He collapsed from his tense position to being sprawled across the grass of his new life. He stretched his arms and legs out as far as he could. The slight tickling feelings every blade of grass made as it touched his skin actually formed his permanent frown into somewhat of a smile. He scanned the sky that lay ahead of him, the vibrant blue with some random puffy explosions of white scattered throughout. The clouds moved ever so slightly with the calm breeze. He turned his head to the side to get a better view of the horizon. Past the ruffling grass he looked, far out into the distance. He thought he saw… but no, it couldn't be. Finn lurched up suddenly squinting out as far as he good beyond the many hills of rolling grass blades where he saw a familiar green blob. Taking his sword up in his hand and slinging his old, faded green backpack over his shoulder, Finn started walking in its direction never once taking his eyes off of it. The closer he got the more his heart started to rise.
"Yes!" he shouted thrusting his sword into the air. It was a boyish yell filled with excitement. A tone of voice he had not taken in to long of a time. He looked up at his tree house he looked the same as he had left it. Maybe Jake is inside! He wondered. Maybe that's what would make him happy, a dimension where Jake was young and as far away from death as possible. He clambered up to the door and practically bounded inside and up the stairs. Screaming Jake's name the whole way.
"Jake!" he yelled as he dropped and pack and chipped sword at the door.
"BMO?" His bounds up the stairs turned into simply steps. His excited yells faded into desperate calls out to something that didn't exist. After opening the door to his bedroom, the ground thudded as his knees hit the floor. Only one bed was in the room. It was all the same. The same messy unorganized place he had left it. Swords, scrolls, books, and tokens from adventures cluttered around the room. Even the same room smell, minus the comforting scent of his most trusted friend. Finn wasn't enjoying this new world so far. Prismo had promised him happiness despite the vagueness of his wish, but this? How is this even remotely close to happiness? Finn thought. Before he could even begin to stop himself from doing so, his hands clenched into fists and he burst up from the floor. Knocking all the trophies from the quests he had received in this world. Trophies from quests he had gone on without Jake. Glass shattered. Punching at the wall, ripping up anything that reminded him of his old life. Although his knuckles bloodied with every blow to the room, his incessant anger never ceased. The fire in his chest was too much to contain and he required a catalyst to relieve himself of the weight upon his shoulders, even for but only a second. Never screaming once or shedding a single tear, his silent rage had destroyed the room in less than two minutes. He dared not look at the damage he caused. He hung his head and took off his dirty white hat, running his finger through his golden hair. Pulling slightly at each strand then relaxing his pull to release the tension bubbling up inside him. His shoulders moved up and down like the tide of an angry ocean with each breath he took. He walked out the wrecked room hanging his hat on the hook as he crossed the threshold. Finn had been sitting on the couch for quite a while before the sound startled him awake from the trance he had been stuck in. The three knocks he decided weren't enough, and he lied on the couch sighing, staring at the ceiling, fearful of any interaction what so ever. The knocking became incessant and he sat up off the couch and made his way to the door. He opened it to a red and white swirled face he recognized, but at the same time so different than he remembered.
"Ah, hello sir Finn. How nice of you to answer the door." Peppermint butler said, but not the peppermint butler Finn remembered.
"Princess Bubblegum wanted to check in and make sure you were attending tonight," She said. Finn stuttered a bit due to this sudden change of gender in his old friend.
"Uh... Um... Y-yes, of course I'm attending the gathering tonight at?" Peppermint butler looked at him with a confused look on her face.
"Sir Finn where else would the party take place other than her majesty's palace!" Finn let out a sigh of relief. This was after all the same Ooo he remembered, well almost the same.
"Of course the Candy Kingdom! Silly me I'll be there soon bro," Finn winced just as the last word past his lip.
"The lady will be expecting your arrival 'bro.'" she said with a giggle and a friendly punch in the knees. Finn laughed and bid her a farewell. He shut the door feeling a little excited for the first time in many years. Finn wasn't the same awkward thirteen-year-old boy he had been the last time he had fallen for Bubblegum. Perhaps now the barrier of age no longer separated them. The resemblance of a half-smile crept across his face, but no sooner had it come than when it had left. He looked down at himself. His shirt was tattered and dirty from the travel through dimensions and his rolling around in the ground. His knuckles were red and bruised and bloody from his moment of spontaneous anger in his room.
He was a complete mess. He took off his shirt exposing his verging on pale, rough scarred chest, and ran upstairs to his bath to preen before the party. This time he and Bubblegum would have the happy life they both deserved. He deserved a happy life.
THE ENDS
Like I said, this is a 'More Detailed/I was bored as crap so I needed to write something' version of VictorB's work. So the ending was completely ripped off from his story.
