And you should also know it is amazing. Animals, lasers, and explosions. And if you had no idea what I was talking about that might sound like a cruel testing lab.
But it's not, don't worry. It's Star Fox.
He would know.
This isn't so much a review as it is a reaction of how ace Star Fox Zero is. When I started the first level, I felt like I was flying the Arwing more so than I had in any Star Fox game before. It was pretty cool.
And now time for a fun fact. Zero uses motion controls.
"I don't want to have to move my controller! Ideally, I wouldn't even want to have to move my thumbs!"
Yeah, well it's a video game and not a movie. And the controls are not that complicated. If you've played Splatoon, it's very similar.
Some of the reviews I've watched online have made it seem like the controls are very complicated or extremely difficult to understand.
They're not.
Okay, they do take some time to get used to, but they aren't much more difficult than other Star Fox controls.
Honestly, one of the hardest things I've experienced with them so far is simply the changes from previous Star Fox games. That shouldn't be any reason for a reviewer to be like, "Awwwww man, the controls are all wonky and bad."
And for the professional reviewers that think the controls are so bad that they make the game extremely difficult, are you really that bad at video games? Your job is to play them. Might want to look into a different career and let Waffle King take your job. I know I was doing fine with the controls.
Back to the game, though. It's great. Shooting down enemies and doing Star Fox work is super fun. It's a lot longer than Star Fox 64 and offers saving so you can replay any mission whenever, which is great since the missing saves on 64 was one of the downsides for me.
It's so much fun to blow stuff up and feel like an ace pilot. And the explosions are in HD now. And other things look nice, too.
It's probably either my favorite or second favorite Star Fox now, with Assault being the other.
