Jaiden sat up in her bed on a Saturday morning, stretched, and glanced over to the box that held Blue and Leo, who were, at the time, not awake. She sighed and prepared to get ready for the day. A few days had gone by since the whole candle event had happened. Since then, Jaiden had kept her features close or had them asleep. She never trusted leaving them alone whenever they were asleep as well as when they were conscious since the incident had happened. She knew that if one of her features got hurt while it was awake, she did too. After all, it's part of her soul that makes them alive.
When she was finished brushing her hair, she grabbed her backpack along with her features and headed to the library where she needed to find some reference material for an upcoming report. Jaiden walked in to the library and found a book isle with no one near by. She thought that her features would like a book and pulled her dolls out of her bag and quietly whispered, "Awake." Blue and Leo snapped into consciousness and looked around. "Where are we?" Blue asked. "In a library, so be quiet." Jaiden said.
The dolls looked around. "Can we find something?" asked Leo. Jaiden said, "Yeah, that's why I woke you up. What are you wanting?" "Graphic novels!" Blue and Leo said simultaneously. Jaiden walked with her hands covering the features towards the comic book section. "Ok, these are the selections." She said as she placed them down on the shelf. As the dolls were carefully scanning the bookshelf, Jaiden was looking around nervously. She didn't want anybody to see these little dolls moving or talking. "Hurry up and pick something." Jaiden said impatiently. "We haven't got all day." She looked up from the features and noticed somebody staring directly at her.
"Ok, time to go." Jaiden said as she snatched up Leo and Blue. "Hey! We weren't done yet!" Leo said loudly. "Shhhh!" said Jaiden as quietly as possible. The person was now walking them rather quickly. Jaiden stuffed the dolls into her pocket hoping they'd keep quiet. The person was an older girl who Jaiden recognized from her school. The girl was about the same height as Jaiden and had black hair and brown eyes.
"Who were you talking to?" asked the girl. "Oh.. uh.. hi, Ashley!" Jaiden laughed nervously. "Um.. nobody!" "Are you sure? You were talking with someone, or even something." Ashley stated flatly. "Ha ha... Yes, I'm sure!" Jaiden said.
"Let us out of here!"
Both girls' eyes widened.
"What was that?" Ashley asked.
"N-nothing." Jaiden stuttered.
"This isn't funny, Jaiden! It's too tight in here!" yelled Leo.
The dolls moved around in her pocket, trying to escape. Ashley noticed that her pocket was moving and the voices seemed to be coming from there. Ashley stepped forward and said, "I know that there's something there.." Jaiden took a step back and realized the dolls were about to fall out of her pocket. She tried to stop them, but they fell out on to the floor, revealing themselves unto Ashley.
Jaiden was frozen. She couldn't believe what was happening. Ashley stood there gaping as the features got up and dusted themselves off. Blue slowly looked up and saw the two girls standing there looking like they saw a ghost. "Hello!" she said to Ashley.
"Ho-how is this happening? What are they??" exclaimed Ashley. Jaiden quickly snapped out of her trance and looked at her. "Um.. it's kind of.. a power.. that I have.." She said as she slowly explained how Blue and Leo came into existence.
"Y-you aren't human!" Ashley blurted out. "No! I mean - I am! Wait!" Jaiden said frantically, but it was too late. For Ashley had ran off from Jaiden in a hurry.
Jaiden sighed in frustration and exclaimed "Look what you guys did! Now everyone is going to know!" "SHHH," said the librarian.
"It's time for us to go." said Jaiden. She whispered the words that knocked out the features and quickly shuffled out of the library.
Is Jaiden's secret safe with Ashley, or will she tell about it?
