@Kion - I made this blog because I live in New York, and it's all over the news. I never read Astra's blog.
In my opinion, it's a disgrace. I have no problem with gays, lesbians, or bisexuals, but this whole gay marrage thing is strictly against my religion; And I have to respect my religion.
if "god" didnt want people to marry the same sex he wouldnt have given them the ability to love eachother. saying "oh humans went down that path themselfs" is a excuse.
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.
@rayword ive never thought marraige was a religious thing. its ritual of ones love for eachother. religion shouldnt have anything to do with it. should be about love and wanting to be with eachother forever o-o''
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.
Stop bashing my religion. I'm not saying they can't get married. I'm just saying I don't believe in it and neither does my church. And I agree that marrage isn't strictly religious.
I personally think it was a good [I'm not saying right, because that's a subjective term] thing to do. As Ray said, there's less discrimination as this comes down. I don't believe that the world has to be united under one belief, which is what Missionaries do on their "travels". They try and convert people to something.
Anyway... Religion should be kept out of marriage. It's never had to do with each other in the first place, and it can go back to being that way.
Emo, we're not bashing your religion. We're just saying our opinion, as you said your... Well, you just said you "have to respect" your religion. I don't call that an opinion, but, whatever.
Kion, it doesn't freaking matter why it was made, but that it can be discussed. -.-
Ray, good point.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
Give me atleast two non-religious negatives of being gay.
Seriously, the US is a secular nation! Also they aren't inviting homophobes to adorn them, right? What does it matter to you that people find joy doing said thing?
My ideal life; Living to the fullest, having fun, and geeking on a linux box.
@tehjew - It may or may not be okay for gay marrage in your torah, and I could really care less if it is or isn't. All I'm saying is my "book" isn't okay with it. I'm NOT saying homosexuals can't marry; there's a bill for that now, and I'm not trying to change it. All I'm saying is I don't believe in that sort of thing and I HAVE TO RESPECT the Roman Catholic Beliefs of my family and church. I did not make this thread to bash other religions and other's opinions.
@Emo: Bashing comes with discussion and debate, in some form or another. Younger people today don't understand that, and think they can say something, with absolutely zero backlash. -.-
You know what? Here's a thought that I've been repeating in a few other Threads.
How does it affect you?... Are you going to be attending said wedding? Are you in charge of planning it, or are good friends with the couple? What's that? No? Well then, why not get your nose out of places it doesn't belong. Most likely, the Catholic Church will not perform such ceremonies, so, you won't have to watch "this kind of abomination" at your Church. Now, shove it. -.-
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
@The Ram- I'm not "young." Don't be so quick to judge. I'm not a little kid. I know bashing comes with discussion and debate. I just didn't think EVERY POST WOULD BE BASHING ME.
If it's getting on your nerves, then leave. Don't ruin it for the rest of us just because your doing a bad job at debating whether or not gay couples should marry.
