TMJ Tiler Beta Release

TMJ Tiler and its associated Tile Gallery are now available. Please provide feedback so that these apps can be made the best possible for their final release.

As a side note: Be aware that when drawing on the 3DS, you must hold down the stylus for 2 seconds before drawing. It's a flaw of the browser.

Hmm... so we can now draw on the tiler hmm.. sounds pretty cool..

I've added a dropper tool, which allows selecting of a previous color by clicking the current color button then any pixel on the drawing.

The randomize option is more subtle.

You can now duplicate existing tiles to edit them into similar ones.

Love it. It actually works quite nicely on PC browsers, for which mouses do bear spriting advantages over small touchscreen. I think the most revolutionary concepts are the editing, the dropper tool, and the RGB selection--features that definitely can pave the way for the 3DSPaint app. Only peeves I have are the somewhat confusing categorising system, the lack of an obvious link to user galleries (I am aware this app is designed for getting work done rather than recreation), and the obscure tool icons. And I know little about advanced JS capabilities, but might it be possible to add an undo button?

Thanks for the feedback, Limxzero! I do plan on adding an undo feature for the final version. The icons will be improved and have textual descriptions next to them.

I just finished adding the lighten and darken drawing modes (which supplement the random and standard modes). These help with shading and can be accessed by clicking the button on the left just under the RGBK color palettes.

@Jorge96 The tiler has an RGB colour selector, instead of the manual colour selector where one would be forced to poke around to pick a specific, preset colour. In basic terms, the RGB type allows one to set the values for each of the primary colours of light: red, green, and blue; they get "combined" to form a single colour. (If you choose a colour on the DSiPaint app, the numbers shown on the bottom are the RGB values.) But yes, it does take getting used to.

TMJ Tiler now has the ability to work with uploaded images. You can upload any image to an album that fits the following criteria:

Type: JPEG or PNG
Width: multiple of 32px
Height: multiple of 32px
Size: less than 2MB

The image will be auto-split into an album of tiles.

When the tiler was upgraded for uploads, I noticed the gallery got reset and all entries up to that point were removed. Is this purposeful?

I do not think the tiler gallery is intended for storing hundreds/thousands of chunks of large images. May warrant a cap on file size.
