But are we talking about the in-game during a battle, or in a more 'realistic' situation? Just because it can "destroy dimensions" doesn't help the fact that it's weaker to Dialga type-wise.

Wow, technically they both are good. Depends on how they're EV trained. Palkia may have a weakness due to typing, but it does have a monsterous Sp.D which happens to be Dialga's offense. Another important factor is Earth Power, Dialga has poor Sp.D and this attack happens to be on that Palkia can learn.

2. Dialga isn't weak to ice.
3. Good point, lol.
4. Dialga can manipulate time, which balances that out.
5. Both of them have pretty cool cries.

I like Palkia because I'm good with water moves o3o and I like its cry...
But I like Dialga a bit more because of its name, Roar of Time, the fact that he's(he?) the final boss of the explorers of time/darkness/sky series, and the fact that you can catch him with a quick ball, or as Superskarmory on youtube did, catch him with a plain old pokeball. With one try. XD
