I've never played either Portal, not even for Mac.

Oh yes, exclusive IPs are a big thing. I think Nintendo has a vast array of them... Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Samus/Metroid, Pit/Kid Icarus, Captain Olimar/Pikmin, Pokémon, etc..

Well, there's also the "Bug-Catching" perspective, which is how the franchise was inspired.

You're collecting data on these creatures. You have to catch them to 'examine' them, or add their data. Not all are trained to fight, only a few.

Actually, that's when Nintendo released the NES with the only two games that supported R.O.B. ;-;

Point is, Nintendo revived what Atari screwed up. I wonder if it was just too much work to get more R.O.B. Software off the drawing board?
But really, R.O.B. was a much better success commercially than the Virtual Boy.

To make it fair, in relative standards, the DSiXL was a completely pointless rendition of the DS series. No extra power, features, ect. Just a bigger screen.

Meh, I don't think it's solely the 3DS. It went up steadily before/during the XL launch, and I believe it's down now because of a; The 3DS launch line-up, and b; The immediate goodbye to Wii, aside from Skyward Sword and Return to Dreamland...
