You need to understand that you must actually learn to program well in order to make good games. Game creation software like GameMaker will only get you so far before you actually have to learn to program to make a game on the level that you described.

It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.

Drwho15,you are the awesomest person ever :o And Skittles,I have been using Game Creator 8 for all my side scrolling games for 1 tear now.It sucks kinda.
