Well, it doesn't make sense that she allows to watch but not play. But if you're ten I would agree that you are too young to play those games. Go play MarioKart, it's a lot of fun, especially when playing online.

Playing a violent game and watching it, is two different experiences. Coming from an 18 year old who also never could play war and RPG games till around 16. I'm glad my mom never let me play those games when I was younger because they would have influenced my life alot more at your age, ten, then they do at my age.

This is very true. I was/am allowed to do whatever the ell I want/ed, in the way of games and movies and such. It sort of really messed me up, and I can not get away from very evil things that are in my mind now forever. v.v I suggest your mom to tape you to a wall and make you watch Blue's Clues all day. Blue's Clues is awesome, and it won't make you think crazy things. Stay away from it as long as you can...
