online users counter

are you going to create some online user counter?

Umm, I feel this should be on the HelpDesk. Anyways, I feel it`d be a good idea to see how many accounts have been made. The only problem I see is that a good portion of accounts are unactive.

Perhaps, Hull devises a daily IP or account log-in counter? I`d love to see how much activity goes on.

I've actually always wanted this. I'd be able to see lots of profiles in a nicer amount of time.

A few things would be, if it was one long list it would load slowly. Honestly the admins might already have something like this lying around.

Maybe this could be an updated version of searching usernames? And we could decide which letter we were looking for. Also, categorize it: Alphabetical, date joined, online/offline. And maybe a homepage feature that links you to the three newest user's profile.


This might be complicated to do, though.

I see it as trivial. It causes unnecessary lag just so we can see how many are on. It's not important really.

Hate is such a weak emotion

A counter for online users would be a novelty for sure. Just a simple counter showing something like "Users online: 47" might be optimal for chatroom access through an /online command or something. Were there to be a full list, either it could have its own little page with a link to it on the website header, or a module similar to the Friend Activities box; either way, could be controversial because some users value their privacy very highly.

Catch my drift.

That could take up alot of bandwidth each day.
Plus it really unneeded.
